Good idea. Just loaded the APIM and updated via USB stick. Waiting the 30 minutes to restart the truck. I'm guessing you are correct with the DTC. I know that when I restarted after the IPC update there were some yellow/orange modules...

Just wanting to clarify though. When encountering a DTC (orange color) with a module, you just click that module, scroll down to PMI and complete it. Then retest the module. If it doesn't clear then you have other issues.
Are there certain modules you shouldn't mess with? I think Jesse_Infotainment mentioned do not mess with the IPMA module?
I think his comment about the IPMA was directed to me—a polite correction. I hadn’t read your earlier posts carefully enough and I thought you were having interaction problems with visual sensors not reporting to other modules correctly. Generally, that suggests something amiss with the IPMA; more likely than the APIM. An interaction wasn’t your issue, so messing with the IPMA wasn’t called for, or a good idea given your errors. I don’t think he was speaking generally that you should never do a PMI on the IPMA. In general, PMIs can be very effective to clear codes for modules that update fine but fail for whatever reason to fully configure.

As for the IPC, yes, if it is orange double check the particular kind of DTC that FDRS is reporting. If its U2100, that is a failure to complete the configuration and the PMI should fix it. It will ask you if the original module or a new one is installed. I said original when I had that code and it worked fine. @Jesse-Infotainment recommends selecting new. He’s the authority so his advice should be the one you follow.

Yeah, I just didnt want to compound his issues. If he did a pmi he would have lost calibration of the camera for lane keeping and they can be tricky to recalibrate. If you see purple its not good. Its definitely fixable but it takes some more work. Purple is a module that is basically blank.

Those being purple a IPMA PMI would not have corrected anything it would have made you even more anxious. I am happy the dealer fixed it for you. I was scared ot hear what the result of it was going to be.

Me too! I was thinking they were gonna have to replace modules and it may be on me since I’m technically the one that screwed it up. But they reprogrammed it and all is good. At least so far

So the IPC is still coming back with this error. I’ve tried PMI both old and new. Should I try initial config? I’m gonna hold off till I hear back from y’all on that one since I’m nervous.
Maybe I should try PMI some more times?

I’d stick with the PMI a few more times. But just shut it down, drive your truck around a little and then give it another shot. Worked for me.

Also try just clearing the code and seeing if it comes back.

Of you can go to Forscan and see how many lines you have. I have a feeling you only have 12 where you should have 14 and that is causing the issue .

It says he has a PCM software update available in FDRS. He asked what the update will change. I do not know that answer. I'm guessing it's like most updates where we don't notice a thing

I had this same DTC. It resisted 3 PMI's, both as original and not. Finally when I tried the next day with another PMI and ran a test it cleared.

Was that even a software update you found? It looked like a tool to reset the PCM.

My my mind is going. The tool I was remembering was the BCM tool @speedracercjr found. Ugh.

The PCM update fixed the harsh 1-3 upshift, if it’s the one I applied.

Oddly enough mine did the same thing during my first round of updates. I don’t have an answer just stopped as I kept going.

Do you have a backup of the module from FORScan?

you can restore that to the module and your tpms should restore its config.
this happened to me :)

Luckily I do have the backup, I’ll restore it.
Did you have the weird blinking lights?
