Good externally-accessible place for a "Fire Extinguisher Inside"

General purpose storage - maybe keep your squeegee and some window cleaning supplies in there. Place for a winter window scraper if you live in the northern climate.

"Hidden" storage. Out of sight of thieves, nosy spouses and kids, etc.

Put a retractable extension cord in there (use the mechanism out of an old vacuum cleaner).

Good luck with that. You'll find that often the servers won't update the app. Yesterday my wife was at a concert, and I was wondering if she left yet. The app said it was updated minutes before, but showed she hadn't left yet. The garage door then opened... It was a 15 minute drive.

You can track your vehicle when it's stopped or parked with the FordPass app, not in real time when it's moving.

While it won't show it moving, it does show it between locations. That said, GoogleMaps can show, with location sharing, a car literally moving 1,000 miles away (we just did this with family traveling to visit us), but FordPass can't show me the current location of my vehicle with any accuracy.

You have securialert activated? What trim and were you 7/11? I asked and Ford said they stopped allowing securialert in the app until some bugs are fixed. Platinum trim here with AT&T 5G plan.

Someone please 3d print hinges and a snap in compartment and I will buy.

I have a 3d printer but I don't think it would hold up. You really need metal or plastic mould injection. I think vibration and heat would just cause it to fall apart

Why not just have a 3D printed plate that goes in there as mating surface and then use magnets instead of a hinge? Pop it off, do what you need, pop it back on. Hinges if not chosen very carefully can lead or over-extension and then denting your fender (see mach e).

Definitely like the idea. Todays magnets are incredibly compact and strong. Might even be able to glue magnets inside the fender and have sufficient “attraction to keep the cover attached.

Contactors close and electronics step the voltage down and charge the LV battery. This can happen whether the truck is being driven or if it is sitting parked.

Is this correct, that the LV / 12V battery is maintained even when the vehicle is parked / turned off ?
Not questioning per se, more seeking confirmation. If this is the case then there's really no need for a backup battery for dashcams etc. (unless you're worried of draining the HV battery pack, which would take quite some time).

I don't know how sensitive a Lightning would be to this, but Teslas start to assume the battery is having issues if it's always getting drained and needing a recharge more than it expects.
