I'm getting a message about my Pro Power reserve setting...

I love my truck after only 3 days of ownership. Last night, I got a message on my Ford Pass app saying "Lightning Pro Power Reserve setting is nearly reached. Lower the setting via the SYNC screen to continue using Pro Power Onboard" I haven't even used the Power Onboard yet. Not quite sure what to do here. Anyone else seen this message before?

There is a battery threshold setting on your truck where it will not allow you to use the outlets in the bed of the truck. When the state of charge (or projected mileage based on SOC) of your high voltage battery drops below this level, it will send you a warning. If you're not using your truck every day to power the house or tools at a work site, then this warning is simply annoying. As TaxmanHog suggested, you can reduced the occurrence of these warnings by lowering the threshold in the settings for your truck.

It is nothing crazy. There is a setting for ProPower to disable power the outlets when your charge gets below a certain amount. The default setting is fairly high, maybe 50% charge. So anytime your truck gets below 50% you will get that message. Just lower that value to 20% and you will rarely see it unless you routinely get down to 20% or less.

Ahh, ok. This makes perfect sense. I will set it lower. My SOC at the time was about 55%. What do you guys set your threshold to in average?

The purpose is to ensure you don't drain the battery lower than the range you need to get to where you are going. So, if you need to drive 50 miles after using the power, do the math and figure out the SOC you need to get there, plus a safety margin.

Example - 2.0 miles per kWh. 50 miles = 25kWh. 25/131 = 19%. Set it for 25% in this case, and you can go 15 miles further.

I appreciate it guys. I'm stuck with this 110V charger until Sunrun decides to send me my FCSP. It's a good thing that I don't do a ton of driving because that mobile charger is nice and seems to be well built but 110V is not going to cut it longterm. BTW, I love this truck!

Mine is set to automatic, the warning will come on at around 105 miles, my current SOC is 89% and est max range of 269 miles.

Sometimes I will select a lower number of miles of reserve range based on proximity to chargers in my normal travels circles.

If SunRun still hasn't sent you the FCSP after 2 weeks, contact the dealer and ask them for a form to have SunRun send it regardless of the "sold" status. That was the only way I got mine.

I also adjusted to a lower miles reserve and that did the trick. And odd warning message for sure.

I forgot to post my range at that time. Soon after the message, i plugged in at home and it said that I was at 50 SOC and I think it said 160 miles to empty but I'm not exactly sure.

The cabin inverter always comes on every KEY ON, that's why it nags us when the reserve threshold is breached, if you turn cabin PPOB off during the drive cycle then the warning won't occur.
