I kind of wish my pro that's being built right now was getting the lfp battery. I'd trade some acceleration speed for battery longevity and not worrying about 100% charging.
The daily and trip charge scheme makes the most sense given the tech (balance of longevity, and ability to use more of the battery).

But I would also love to never worry about how much and when to charge ever again. You make a great point.

It would be a no brainer to drop the extended range XLT by 1000$ so it qualifies for the tax rebate.
Or decouple the FCSP and make it an option like the mobile charger. That will get it below as well. The tax credit threshold does not apply to options not attached to the vehicle

I built an XLT-ER [312-A] with only max tow option, this configuration comes in just under the 80K federal tax credit, destination charge excluded.

Get ready to see a bunch of abandoned Lariat ER's on lots from buyers who switched and ordered XLT ER's to take advantage of the credit!

I did not know the destination charge was not counted in the MSRP. Thanks for this heads up!

The extended range battery option package on the Lariat is now $9,000 instead of $10,000

2001 FORD RANGER, 2023 F-150 LIGHTNING
Just got this update on the pricing (5-9-2023):

Christopher,

Well sure enough we got our pricing updates for the Lightning in a doc first thing this AM.

The Pro trim stayed the same, starting at $59,974

The XLT Standard Range 311A went up $1000, now starting at $64,474
The XLT Standard Range 312A stated the same, starting at $68,474
The XLT Extended Range 312A decreased by $2000, now starting at $78,874 (and notching in under the $80K EV credit cap).

Lariat 510A Standard Range went up $1000, now starting at $76,974
Lariat 511A Extended Range stayed the same, starting at $85,974

Platinum stayed the same, starting at $98,074.

Last but not least, the Max Trailer Tow Package (available only with Extended Range Battery) increased $100 to $1100.

Let me know any additional thoughts or questions you have and how I can further assist!

Sincerely,

Mike Powers

To be objective this is not a good sign. There were over 200,000 reservations placed before that option was discontinued. After deliving approx. 15,000 Lightnings in 2022 by mid-year 2023 the order banks are open for all - no reservation needed. Probably about 7,500 have been sold this year means the conversion rate rate from initial reservation holders less than 15%. Rising prices, rising interest rates certainly not helping out but those numbers are pretty staggering. I'm happy with mine ('22, 19,000 miles) - still debating worth 2 hours of charge time from Maryland to Maine this summer.

That's the way to go now if you're getting an ER. I'd remove the mobile power cord and add Max Tow. Since it comes with 312A you also get 9.6kW Pro Power, intelligent access, heated steering wheel, Power Driver's seat, bed lighting, power tailgate, and the tailgate step.

It was nice they Dropped the XLT ER by $2k to allow buyers to add Max Tow and still stay under the $80k limit.

After the Tax Rebate you're looking at $74,369 before taxes/documentation.

Max Trailer Tow can be added to any model, including the Pro (if you could order a Pro). It does require the addition on Pro Power 9.6kW with the Standar Battery though (which adds another $1,200 in addition to the $1,100...so $2,300 total now).

Maybe, but Ford are going to give current reservation holders/orders priority and we've yet to see actual delivery times for any new orders placed now. No doubt a lot of the people who originally reserved wanting a Pro might not want the truck on the new terms, so that will have had an impact, but Ford clearly doesn't want to build and sell that particular trim (for obvious reasons). There aren't many Lightnings on the lot around here, my dealer's website shows one and that's a customer order so likely just awaiting pickup but automatically appearing on their website as "inventory" as both my Lightning and Bronco did. They are the largest dealer in our market. Another has three, again all special order.

Out of curiosity, I texted my salesman about a half hour ago. His dealership received no new orders today.
Not a huge dealership. They originally had 74 reservations, but I think it is indicative of the effects of the price increases.
