Failed 3 times today for me, once was plugged in but not charging. started charging about 7 tonight then started the update about 7:15, worked first try. Unusual noise coming from the back of the truck somewhere during the update, sounded like a bunch of wasps flying around in a hive. Regardless plugging in and starting a charge seemed to do the trick . I was at 71% before the charge and had driven today and yesterday so the 12v battery should have been good to go.

@TaxmanHog - sorry to be a pain - maybe a poll on each of the SW updates. Helps tracking for the failures and honestly - I come back to see which ones I've applied since the Ford messages disappear after a while.

In general - there are 3 recent updates. I got 23-PU0503-CON-FX without issue. I currently have 23-PU0105-DC-CHG2 failing - 5 times now and have not seen the one from this thread at all.

Have others received both of those above before getting this one - 23-PU0306-BCF-DET?
Done, pick a model year and condition, change/amend response as condition change.

Just wanted to co-sign on the wasp sound . Sometimes you read something on the Internet and think “that person must be crazy “ , but it sounds exactly like there is a wasp hive in the back of the truck .

My experience .
My updates have never failed before.
This failed five times. I read everyone’s experiences here and the right mix for me was-
Had to be actively charging .
SOC has to be above 50% as it failed the first time at 45 % and charging .
Doors locked and headlights were off but not sure if that mattered.
Look forward to the brave new world of not having an active air dam fault every other day.

All three successfully updated OTA on my 2022 Lariat ER (with pre-notices as advertised) 23-PU0306-BCF-DET;3-PU0503-CON-FX ;23-PU0105-DC-CHG2

No updates or notices for my 2022 Platinum. It is still scheduled to go back to the dealer on 6/26 with previous case number CAS-429651 12-P7D0W0.

I guess a mathematician would say that is a 50% success rate!!!!

Thank you, appreciate the support you give here. Love the polls for tracking.

Just wanted to throw it out there that my truck feels faster in one pedal sport mode and the regen seems stronger but more even . I’ve never noticed an actual change in driving dynamic with any of these updates .

How long were you charging before you started the update?

After failing nightly the last few evenings and my bunch of manual attempts, I tried it again twice just now while actively charging, but both attempts failed. My truck is already at 90%, so I had to tell it to charge to 100% for these two tests, but it still did not work for me. My 12V is >70% charged...I really don't know what else to do other than pay for FDRS for 48 hours...that is IF this update is available.

So I had it sitting on the charger for about 2 hours not charging and it failed multiple times. Then I started charging outside of the normal window and it was at 45 % percent and it failed . Tried it again once it reached 53% and it went through .

Other things I do which may or may not matter

-lock the truck with the button inside before I get out .
- unplug my obd2mx and anything connected to usb .
-close outlet covers
-stare at the sync screen with a sense of eternal optimism and wonder as I read the words “preparing update”.

Almost none of the items in the list that Ford says you need to do matter. I think it is 12v SOC and even then that seems a bit iffy.

There was a release similar to this one in install nature last fall, the DTE release - it was a nightmare for a large number of people. Ford simply doesn't know what they are doing and how to make these install better.

It seems to be these that must have the truck parked and turned off that have the biggest issues. Most of the ones that will install while driving there aren't near as many issues with.

Bottom line is just give it a bit of time and eventually it will install, whenever it feels like it.

Just chiming in…….. after my unfortunate experience with update 22-PU1009-MIL-DTE.

multiple trips to dealer, ultimately sent home with install error, telling me it would just download and Ota‘s would flow.

after 4.5 months I gave up on dealer. With help of mikeG I did fdrs updates myself.

so I was up to date.

last week I received my first of 2 OTA’s. Installed.

PU0306-BCF-DET installed on first try 🎉

of course charge limit didn’t hold and fm radio stations had to be reset.
