After these update attempts now my for pass app Home Screen does not show the same charging info with details button when I am charging alike it used to. Probably not related but wanted to put it out there in case others see the same.

Go to the Home menu, select Charging, scroll the screen to see the bottom edge (15.5" display) you should find it at the bottom of the list, if you have an existing profile, edit the values, if you're having issues with an existing profile not conforming to the specifications (corrupted by a recent update) delete it/them and then rebuild a new specification, make sure to be under 100% charge and plugged in at the location you intend to always charge at [Home, Work, other locations], build the new profile.
Thanks, I was used to finding it in the settings menu, which I didn't see anymore.

After trying with different conditions over 15 times. 306 just went through. The only difference was this time I removed my left cheek out of the seat first instead of both cheeks at the same time. Ford should put this on their manual.

My update has failed multiple times. It looks like I will make another trip to Total Wine, where the last 3 updates have installed. I will try the left-cheek-first method if Total Wine does not work.

After every failed installation attempt I get a message from Ford to "Help us install your new Ford Power-Up", but have no instructions on what to do to "help". I have asked @Ford Motor Company in another post to please share with us the required conditions for a successful update, or provide instructions to help the update installation process. Crickets.

Actually it does, after it gets low enough.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
While ignition status is off, DC-DC is normally off and 12V battery supports the 12V loads.
While ignition is off, if 12V battery reaches 40% state of charge, then vehicle waits 48 hours , before the DC-DC transfers 300 Watt-hours of energy to recharge the 12V battery. The HV power comes from either HV battery or wall power while on plug. If the 12V battery state of charge reaches 30%, then this HV to LV energy transfer happens immediately with no delay.

Note:
• This system was designed to recharge 12V battery while the vehicle was left parked for many days
either on or off plug or occasional drain from customer usage. The 12V battery will wear out if this
energy transfer is completed daily due to aftermarket loads draining the 12V battery down to 40% or lower.

• Vehicle has 35 Amp-hour AGM 12V Battery
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Thanks for the information. I am suspecting that the LV battery may be too small for all the "non-driving" loads. The EV LV battery has half the capacity of the 70 amp-hour battery in my previous 2000 SVT Lightning. Admittedly, the ICE starting load is not present in the EV, but the non-driving loads have got to be much higher in the EV than the SVT.

I think they have half a guy responsible for software development and that dude has never seen a Lightning in person let alone have a chance to test anything. I don’t know how else to explain what I am seeing. And I am not just talking about update procedure. It is everything from operation of their web pages to the apps to the truck software. I totally get what Farley was talking about having outsourced every module and their software and trying to make them work together and have the updates coordinated can be challenging but not putting enough and right resources on it is not the fault of that half guy, it is Farley’s fault.

Yes, I am also a victim of the "offered update but failing to install" club and am giving up.
I've tried everything mentioned in this thread plus the suggestions from Ford's website.
After over four hours of online angst using chat and website, I finally got a case #.
After another hour with dealer, I finally got an appointment for the end of next week.
Just venting, but I'm losing patience and respect for Ford's service component.
Finally updated at 1 AM. I've updated poll to "Yes, after several failed attempts."
What did I do ? Dunno. Nothing different from before.

Mine has now failed 8 times. I previously tried and failed to install the CHG update and it was pulled after my third failure. I got the message that Ford would make a new update available. The CHG never came back but on Wednesday the DET one popped up. I drove it Wednesday and let it to try at the 1 am scheduled time and that was the first failure. On Thursday evening I drove about 20 minutes to meet some friends for dinner. As we were getting ready to leave I remote started the truck and we ended up talking long enough the 30 minute timer ran out. I then drove 20 minutes home and tried again. I verified that the 12V was at 83% when I started. After that failure I checked and the 12V was still at 80%. I then let the truck run for over an hour in the garage and started again at 89% and it failed with 84% left. I failed for the sixth time at the 1 am schedule time this morning. Today I pulled the negative, charged the 12V, and reset the BMS. I started again at 97% and it failed with 94% left. I made one more attempt starting at 94% and now I'm giving up.

All attempts were made with the brake set, doors closed and locked, frunk and tailgate up, and headlights off. I plug in the OBD dongle to check the SOC before I start and then unplug it to make sure there is no extra drain on the 12V. Sometimes it was plugged in and others not. I have been messaging with one of Ford's social media folks who tells me she has escalated to engineering. The only feedback from engineering has been that the preconditions were not met. She could not tell me which precondition it was lacking.

I guess Monday I'll just plan on spending my day on the phone.

I'm in the camp of failed installs. If it's just a matter of the 12V being weak, can I just swap it out for a beefier one? I'd rather have a reliable 12V battery than one that is going to drain attempting an install.

I'd also gladly let the HVB power the vehicle while it's installing, just inhibit the lights.

Been getting messages that update willl happen as scheduled later tonight. Then in morning I see a message about update interrupted by another process. Any ideas how to get beyond this? Ive been driving the truck I don't think it is the 12v levels.

There are literally a dozen threads on this. On your sync screen find out which update it is. For example I'm stuck on getting 23-PU0306-BCF-DET. Then search for that thread.
And it is probably the 12V level, driving doesn't seem to help that.

Edit: My response was posted when dirtdiver started a new thread. Thankfully it has now been merged into this one.

I have also had this update fail multiple times. I tried to update using the schedule as well as requesting an install right after completing a drive. Seems like this update is full of bugs.

Yeah, I've tried everything and have frankly given up. The failed message is now part of my daily routine along with shower, morning coffee and trip to the bathroom.

Mine is still failing on a daily basis. Tried everything I can think of short of going to the dealer.
