I’ve had the Ford charge station pro for almost a year now and it’s been working great after a bit of trouble setting it up. Noticed 2 days ago I’m getting the message “ wasn’t able to connect to the server”. I have cycled the power still the same message. Is there anything I can do? It seems like this is connection problem on Ford’s end. I can see on my Wi-Fi network that the station is sending data up and down.

Don't know if this is related, but just tried looking at the status of updates on my vehicles, and they come back with a server error. FordPass works fine, but not that. So it could be they're having some type of an outage.

I call that the standard condition. FCSP remembers your last amperage setting and charges none the less. All you lose is the recording of power consumed in that charge. But when the charger gets wonky and connects, it dumps that power value on to your next charge recording if it’s not in its “standard condition”.

This problem is related to the cloud server(s) that host our data, my access has been working the couple times I looked at it today, early morning ~8am and just now, if you guys are still out, then it's likely still a cloud issue and that points to a partitioned 2+ server load manager one or more are down and blocking randomly.

I used to have this issue with a production case processing system at IRS back in the day, had to get OPS involved to boot the errant load managing server.

Ok thank you for the info. I’m assuming I’m just best to wait it out then? if I was to call Ford I don’t think it would progress much further than them telling me to reset my station.

Just wait it out, probably come back in a few hours, if not you could call, not sure if that will expedite them kicking the server(s) in the ass quicker.

This actually makes me feel better...I was having issues yesterday and they have rolled into today....I am getting the same message. The FCSP is connected to the Local network, as I can get to it via the ChargeStation App while on my WiFi network... but it's clearly not communicating with the servers.

I called FMC yesterday because I can't adjust the amperage anymore via FordPass. I have seen other posts here that this could be something others are experiencing after a firmware update on the FCSP. That whole experience drained me...the number of calls, the terrible call routing, dropped calls, lack of call back...just the whole experience with FMC customer service left me feeling unimpressed to say the least. @Ford Motor Company ...you've got to do better.

Just a follow up I did call and they recommended turning off the breaker for 25 minutes and that should reset the Wi-Fi. Then I could add the station again like if I just got it. I tried explaining that a few other people are having the same problem and I can see that it’s communicating on my Wi-Fi network and It’s probably something at Ford‘s end, but they won’t go any further until I do that. As of now I’m just gonna wait it out. Don’t really want to reset everything.

I went ahead and did a factory reset and relinked the FCSP and still didn’t fix it.
I called FMC Customer Support again today, and although their automated call routing sucks, I did get to someone who was rather kind and helpful. They confirmed that Ford’s charging server is down…and she would give me a call to continue the Amperage Troubleshooting conversation once the servers are back up.

Check if there server is down at:

https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ford.com.html

If that is the server the Charge Station Pro connects with that is...

The funny thing is that I have both a Charge Station Pro and a Ford Connected Charge Station. FordPass has been showing that it can’t connect to the FCSP for the last few days, but it has no problem with the Connected Charge Station. You’d think if their “charging server” was down, neither one would work. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Indeed, that’s weird.
And it sounds like many folks are having issues with their FCSP…I wonder if there are just a bunch of chargers that aren’t communicating with FMC for some reason. Maybe they’re “fixing” something. I’m sure it will resolve all issues once they “fix” it.

Same here we have the connected charge station and it’s fine just the FCSP that’s not connecting

Up late rocking to Peter Schilling (Deutsche versions) ...... waiting for them to reboot, looks like someone is working OPS at this time, I've lost my reliable connection from earlier in the day.

The fix might be in process now.......
