Found this today. Didn't recall reading it prior, nor did a search pull it up. This would really tick me off.

Can I charge at a 350-kilowatt (kW) charge station?
Yes you can.

When using Electrify America (EA) Direct Current (DC) fast chargers, be aware of the following:

Some EA DC fast chargers can deliver up to 350kW of power.
Your 2024 F-150 Lightning will accept up to 120kW.
The 2023 and prior model year F-150 Lightning trucks accept up to 150kW

We know they changed from dual onboard AC chargers to single but that shouldn't affect DCFC. I wonder if they made other "cost reductions" (maybe to the DC contactors) at the same time that caused this change as well for 2024.

Edit: What was/is the Mach-E capable of at DCFC?

There are 350kW chargers other than EA. This says "EA".

I've gotten as high as 167 at EA in my 2023.

I saw that but don't always believe Ford FAQ writers to be totally accurate. If true only EA then even more weird. Why just EA?

This would be a great opportunity for @Ford Motor Company to actually answer a question. Sneaking this in an FAQ is exactly NOT the way to communicate to customers.

Please send the VIN and name of dealership you’re working with (just kidding)

I got 143 in my Pro SR last week at EA. Why would they throttle the 24 trucks even harder? Ford seriously needs to level up on our charging speeds. Our trucks have and require enormous batteries. They are embarrassingly slow to charge, not because of the hardware but because of software limits put in place by Ford. Our thermal management systems are excellent, limiting speed makes no sense and does not protect the equipment. Watch the SOC charge on the Lightning, it is not a natural battery charge curve. I'd like to see this improve in a big way.

Ok, I think this is still related to the 2024 change where they got rid of the dual AC chargers for the ER trucks. They must have also made the rest of the charging infrastructure (AC and DC) based on the SR battery as well. Remember the SR battery has never been able to charge at the higher kW rates of the ER. From the tech specs we see that an SR takes longer to 150kW DCFC than an ER despite having a smaller battery.

Ford F-150 Lightning 2024 DC Fast Charging Speed Limited to 120kW at EA? 1707873530142

SR takes 44 minutes to add 63.7 kWh [(80%-15%)*98 kWh]. Avg power= 87 kW
ER takes 41 minutes to add 85.1 kWh [(80%-15%)*131 kWh]. Avg power = 125 kW
(Peak kW will be much higher)
At a 50 kW charger the numbers are roughly the same for ER and SR at 42 kW average.

@Ford Motor Company needs to either confirm or rectify the situation. If i was a potential 2024 buyer and my truck could only get 120, I would be PISSED.
