New guy here. I've had my Lightning for 2200 miles. I was one of those who got worked up over not getting updates. But I decided to forget about it and just enjoy the truck.
And just like that I get "Update successful" message on the Ford Pass app. 4.2.1.2 for the record. All is good but when I look at the alert in Ford Pass it says "Update successful" and then at the bottom of the screen it says "Schedule service". Is this normal? I mean, I'm not inclined to ask for service because everything seems to be working as it should.
Ignoring it for now, just wondering if this is normal.

I think you are fine. That looks like the button to schedule service, but not a service now warning type of message. My FordPass app does not look like that.

Others can chime in to confirm.

What's your mileage? I think you get those when you are getting close to the standard service intervals. Like the 10k and so on

Just under 2200 miles. I wouldn't have given it much thought but I can't clear the alert and the triangle alert indicator turned red and won't clear. I think I put too much thought into it.

Did that. Delete button nowhere to be seen. Always been there for other notifications. Weird.

I’ve seen that there with all my alerts, you’re overthinking it. That’s just there if you want to schedule service, it’s not telling you that you need to schedule service.

The Alert will disappear after 3-5 days, if you are not seeing a check engine lamp on the instrument cluster, then no issues.

Hello!
New guy too. Had my truck since 2/24. This is my second update now and I also go around ~2200 miles. Funny.

So there is multiple ways to bring up that message in my app. One view does not show a button at the bottom, but if I go through another method is says “call dealer” at the bottom.


I think the reason is because through that method, I am clicking on something that says “vehicle status alert” set theoretically the car could be telling me that something is wrong and that’s why the call Dealer or schedule button is there.

In this case, the status alert is that an update installed so no worries.

My last update was exactly 7 days ago. Hopefully they keep coming.

Have to say with the Ford App, there is an array of useless messages, but a paucity of items that may be useful, such as a running history of the updates, the date of install and what they are.

Instead, we get a bunch of random messages and links which are there to get us to spend more money. It's like the movie They Live!
