A 23 ER will beat a 24 SR for range even with the heater at full blast the whole trip. Plus faster L2 charging and incentives no question get the ER

[sigh] An ER pack is 30% larger (a nice upgrade, but not an end to range anxiety). Most people maintain SOC between 20%-80%; if you operate your SR between 10%-90%, you have 3% more range than an ER maintained at 20%-80%, and you’ve probably saved $12k and 300lbs less mass to haul around. Faster L2 charging on a ‘23 ER is only possible if you can put in a 100A circuit for a FCSP (most people don’t have that much available in their panel, without expensive upgrades). And finally, the lower DCFC rate per the original SR specs hasn’t proven to be accurate, with SRs fastcharging at essentially the same rates as ERs.

"80% of an apple is more than 60% of an orange" and I do charge at 80A at home on FCSP. I also didn't mention DCFC at all so... Okay?

Look, justify your purchase to yourself however you need to, but not only are the points I made salient, there are additional considerations like 130 more horsepower, included FCSP, better resale etc.

There's a <customer> for every seat...

All the marketing I have seen was they are not hitting dealers lots until June.
REALLY?!? They have a bunch of built ones that were just released from a stop ship though.

Yeah when I searched my area, all of the ones up and down the valley showed dealer’s stock had an estimated delivery date of June or later.

Maybe Ford is prioritizing shipping the orders first since there was enough 23’s at the time on lots🤷‍♂️

The heat pump worked wonders for the model 3. Get a ‘24 extended range truck. Best of both worlds!

Where I am in Canada, I get an extra $10k tax break plus free installation of charger if I go with ‘24 Pro or XLT (SR).

I could likely get a ‘23 XLT ER for about $72k Cdn locally with no tax break. A new ‘24 XLT SR with heat pump is going to be $69k plus $2700 freight, minus the 10k. All excluding the 15% sales tax on the whole thing either way.

So now that I run the math, the extra 10k seems like money well spent for the extra range and features of the ‘23.
where in Canada do you get the tax break and free charger install?

I actually would, if it wouldn't cost me all the features of my '22 Lariat ER that seem to be gone never to appear again.

EPA range estimates are the same for the 23 vs 24 with heat pumps. That should tell you all you need to know about how much the heat pump has an effect on actual range.

Just curious have you been on lot to see them? The Blue Flash was born only two weeks ago🤷🏼‍♂️
Yup. They were beside my 23 xlt when I bought it. They have a new “white” script ford grille emblem….may not have been these two but there were two 24 flashes one dk Blue and one white….

Awesome! Maybe cause of your proximity. All of the valley ones Ford showed were June or later. Glad to see they are showing up. Not interested in the ‘24 Flash but might look at the differences in person once they show up.

Thanks for clarifying 🥳

i “think” those may be new Window stickers for the trucks I saw possibly with the new lowered MSRP values on them. But best to call them and ask. Tell them Norm Sent you! BTW I want to order the White Script Ford emblems for my ‘23. They look totally different than the standard chrome.
