Contacted Ford support. Their response was that we could not use the feature to setup a Location at home in order to control the charging times and charging amount because it requires us to buy the Ford Connected Charge Station ($799) and it will not work with the provided level 2, 30 amp mobile charger that came with the truck.

This seems insane to me.

That is BS ........ I noticed in an earlier post you said you were at 100 % SOC, if that's the case, the EVSE goes into standby mode and while in that status, the Sync system won't let you create your first [home] location.

Drive the truck for a few days to get your SOC below 100%, maybe 70/80/90 % should suffice, then plug the truck in and let the charging commence immediately, while viewing the Charging app on the trucks Sync screen you should be able to create a location, let the GPS coordinates stand as is while building the specifications for your preferred max SOC & weekday / weekend time frames, save the profile.

Thank you for the response. I will keep trying and try your approach. So far no matter what combination of events I do the add location Button is never present as shown in my photos.

Alright So I tried again. The Truck is at 64%, I plug in and it starts charging immediately. I check the Charging menu, and the option to add a location is still not there.

To me the key is that you cannot also use the built-in navigation while charging. That seems to be the root of your problem. If it is not able to get GPS coordinates while charging, then there is nothing for it to add i.e., no coordinates to store for the location.

Have you tried a Sync Reboot? May also try to disconnect negative cable for a few minutes then re-connect (10mm wrench).

Are you saying I should force close the Navigation app that is running in the background? I'll try it, but that also seems strange as I am not actively using it for navigation routing.

Edit: I did a SYNC reboot and force close the Nav App. No change.

No not saying that. I am referring to your post #10 and #13.
I am not sure if it related but I am also not able to use the Navigation features at all even though it is enabled and the service plan is active.
It's funny I just found this. Nav and Satellite Status will work if I unplug the charger. Getting great Satellite signal in my garage.
I can't see how you can save a charging location (GPS coordinates) if you don't have GPS working. So my suggestion is to reboot the entire truck. Did you click the link in my post on how to Reboot Sync? (holding down certain steering wheel buttons)? And if that doesn't work, pull the literal plug by disconnecting the 12V battery for 10 minutes.

Apologies, I now have GPS working. I should have posted that in enabled the 3 Connected Services options it requires. The truck knows its coordinates, and my Fordpass App also knows its coordinates.

Hmm, then I'm not sure what's going on. Just to confirm, while you are plugged in and charging, you see satellites and there are coordinates listed like this screenshot?

Ford F-150 Lightning Can’t set charging location at home -[fix post 42] 1715305915928-ih

I had a very similar problem yesterday when I got my truck back from dealer service. My charging locations were gone and truck wanted to charge to 100%. When I clicked add a location there were a set of coordinates listed and I clicked the trash can icon (mistake).

I could no longer add a location after that like you. I had to drive around, jump through hoops, rename things to get something to save. You didn't by chance do what I did and click the trash can icon at any point during setup did you?

EDIT. After you got GPS working, did you drive around like taxman suggested. That worked for me.

I can see the satellites with signal in my garage exactly like your photo. When I bought the truck and brought it home, there were no pre existing locations saved in that menu, it has always been blank.

Thank you for the response. To add more clarity here. The truck is currently plugged into my level2 charging at home. Here are photos while it is plugged in at home in my garage and at 100% charge. Additionally, all gps and cellular data services are Enabled, and the Truck is connected to my wifi at home. Issue remains regardless of whether it is on my home Wifi or not.

I am not sure if it related but I am also not able to use the Navigation features at all even though it is enabled and the service plan is active.
Please review "all" the connectivity settings, there are a few critical ones, below the visible range of the window, place your finger on the display away from the switch's I prefer the far-right margin to slide the displayable zone up/down to confirm what is/is-not switched on, make sure everything is on.

NOTE: I played with the location sharing button alone, when I turned it off about 4 or 5 other permissions automatically switched off after I confirmed the warning. Turning the location sharing back in DOES NOT automatically restore the associated controls to the ON position, you must individually switch them on, acknowledging the warning for each feature.

I would also like to add another datapoint to this issue. In my app there are never any charge logs. It is signed in, and linked to the Truck. I can see its gps location and everything. I've been charging at home for about 3 weeks now. See photo:

This is a secondary issue, you should be able to see charging records, they typically post about ~12 hours after unplugging from the EVSE.

I wonder if you have multiple vehicle profiles, hopefully it's only listing one for your truck.

Click the drop list next to your vehicle custom name, do you have access to other Ford vehicles or maybe a ghost entry?

I'm still convinced there is a permission issue, you may not have switched every feature on.

While tinkering with my FP, I'm seeing this frequently while viewing the [Vehicle] tab or after requesting a data update: Maybe more server issues at Ford today??
