@MM in SouthTX just curious if there was ever a resolution to this from Ford?
I donā€™t get the feeling that Ford has taken a personal interest in it. I made an appointment to take the truck in, but had to cancel because my wife was leaving town and the dealership is not offering a loaner. There is a small degree of engagement from Fordā€™s customer service department. I have been called to follow up, but the people I talk to are phone bank people. I donā€™t have confidence that when I take it in I will get any answers. Neither the phone bank people nor the service department inspire that confidence.

I took home a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe overnight last night to check it out. Very hesitant to get a Jeep product due to reliability issues, but I did like the vehicle. Rather than spending time with Ford, I may be switching vehicles. They are going to give me a trade-in quote.

if I could get a loaner it would be a different story.

Thank you. I love and will miss the EV platform but there needs to be a lot more chargers and the capability to charge faster before I will consider it.

Another one bites the dust.

Good luck! (I was thinking about buying the PowerBoost F150 before the Lightning became available)

I heard hybrids have twice the problems... but who knows. I've never owned one.

It is a shame that you had those issues! Hopefully Ford will get it corrected !!!
Wish you the best of luck with the new truck!

No. It was supposed to come in May. Now June.
No issues with your ultimate decision, but if I knew my driving needs created such a risk, I would have stopped waiting for the ford adapter, purchased the Lectron or A2Z, and leveraged access to the super charger.

Given the cost of any electric truck, the cost of the third party adapters is very very small.

Not judging, and maybe that simple action might enable you to keep the truck without the current level of stress.

Really the decision was long coming, and did not have to do with the lack of Tesla charging. I can't go down to Port Mansfield and back. There are no charging stations. None. Zero. I can't go to a friend's ranch and back. No charging stations. I have lived with the truck telling me what I can or can't do for too long. The truck dying when it had 3% left, more than enough to get me home, was the last straw. For those not in a charging desert, and willing to put up with inconveniences, I am glad you like the truck. I wish I could have kept it.

Appreciate your concern and your suggestion, as well as your lack of judgment. Kind words go a log way on the internet!

Wow. Pretty pathetic of you. I recall an earlier post of yours saying there was a super charger but you didnā€™t have the adapter. Perhaps I was wrongā€¦ā€¦.. But my comments are a legitimate solution in a situation like that.

Just noticing this is an old thread and you sold your truck? So why are you here? just to vent anger? Move on dude.

Oh, and I guarantee my judgement is better than yours because in your most recent response, it sounds like you bought the lightning knowing it was a gamble given (1) limited charging infrastructure where you live and (2) the specific destinations your regularly travel too. Whoops!!! šŸ¤£

Iā€™m sorryā€¦you think telling someone that they have a ā€œlack of judgementā€ is a nice thing to say? I didnā€™t misinterpret anything, but I am fine moving on as mistakes happen. Happy trailsā€¦.

Lack of judgement in this case meaning YOU weren't judging him.
