No only 30k miles. Thought I read somewhere it needed to be done at like 35k. I also have had no updates or recalls sorted. Ford can’t do OTA updates outside USA either.
30k is early. You are probably thinking about a transmission. Those while ford says 100k or whatever id say those need changed much sooner for longevity. On our trucks you really only have the trans fluid in both front and rear motors. Coolant loops and brake fluid. I will probably derive the motors myself maybe around 60-70k as I like to be ahead on maintenance. At least a fluid drop and change the external filter. As far as updates yeah OTAs I’m sure will not happen but someone with fdrs using a vpn I would think could easily update the truck. In fact if you’d like to post your vin I can run it thru fdrs and see what updates you have available so at least you have an idea of what may need updating.

Thanks. I will read some of the threads and try figure out how to do it. Appreciate all the help.
should not be too hard. need a mongoose cable, windows laptop (nothing fancy) and with the updates you have you should be able to get it done with a 2 day pass from fdrs which is $50. its pretty straight forward overall. the biggest thing is you HAVE to have a fairly beefy 12 battery charger while you are doing these updates. when you are updating the coolant pumps and stuff run and pull pretty decent amount of amps. you need one that will output at least 50-60 amps DC. there are plenty of youtube videos showing how to use fdrs. good luck!

Kind of depends on how good your Internet speed is!
I wish I could get away for a week. I would go down and do it although I am not a Ford tech!

Yeah I suppose I should have mentioned that. Do need to have decent internet. Shit I’m not a ford tech but I’d go too. 🤣

Hi guys. I bought a XLT back in 2022 and shipped it to Barbados. It’s working perfect and has had no issues. However, I’m coming up on some mileage to change fluids and I generally just want to have it looked over.
So I’m looking for a technician that can be flown to Barbados and service it. Any help on where to start would be appreciated as Ford is no help.
Hows the power grid out there, any different from you US meaning rates and speed?

With the OTA updates not being available I would invest in a laptop / Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI), get a power supply and get the truck updated yourself.
But do not some of the updates require a larger than common 12Vdc power supply for $300 or so? That stops me from wanting to take on updates.

yes it is an expensive investment. In my case the pl6100 was around $350 and the Bosch mastertech 2 VCI I found on discount for $1100. But you have to factor in that the dealer would be charging 200 an hour for doing the updates so if you have a list thats 6-8 hours to do like the list above it’s worth the time/investment. Especially if you plan on having more Ford/GM/Stellantis products that are supported by the VCI you can use to update them all, you just need to pay for whatever license the OEM software uses.

What? That seems ridiculously high.
Yeah. That’s what I thought as well. But turns out it pulls stupid voltage. The coolant pumps run and who knows what else. But the little 12v battery just can’t keep up. You can look in some different threads on here for fdrs updates and read about others who have ran into this. That’s how I found out.

You can't just stay plugged in and charging? My understanding is that the 12 volt battery is charged when you are charging the truck, although I doubt it's getting charged at that high of a level.

You can be plugged in but it does not “charge” while updates are taking place. I tried that. lol.
