To register a $50k car in Nevada you are looking about $900/year. EV or not EV

The computation rules have not changed, it's just the dang expensive vehicles are a shocker at $25 a thousand valuation. No special fees, but the excise tax still seems like Maura’s hand rummaging around my pocket (not in a good way ). I know it’s paid to the town, but it’s a state program. Excise tax on my lease for three years is about $3400.
I live in the same situation. Crazy that I pay less to register my 2023 Lariat than my wife’s 2015 Lexus. I’ll pay the ev surcharge.I’m in the RTA district for Sound Transit and the lightning is heavy enough to avoid paying it. With our MSRP, that’s a savings of several thousand over 10 years. I’ll gladly pay the higher ev tax. I still come out ahead vs a gas truck.
I posted a link to this PDF, but it got deleted because some members couldn't get to it? I guess?
So attached here is the (same) PDF that details the taxes and fees for different states:
Not sure how old that is, but it is not correct for Texas! It is $200 a year additional cost on top of regular registration from what I understand.I posted a link to this PDF, but it got deleted because some members couldn't get to it? I guess?

Sorry, it was a site that came up that looked fairly comprehensive. Not sure how old that is, but it is not correct for Texas! It is $200 a year additional cost on top of regular registration from what I understand.
But we did get rid of safety inspections for all passenger vehicles-not sure why you would want unsafe vehicles on your roads? You only have an emissions inspection if you live in the counties near the big cities, i.e. Dallas, Houston and Austin I believe-clean air act!
We do not have a state income tax, so no reason for a tax credit on the state level.
No big deal!Sorry, it was a site that came up that looked fairly comprehensive.

Oh, but you can have taxes without road and bridge repair. You can't have common services like road repairs, bridge repairs, etc., without taxes.
So much for NJ for going “green”. Don’t forget to mention the sunsetting of the no sales tax for EV program as well. Here is NJs...this is on top of the normal registration fee that based on vehicle class and/or GVWR.
Electric Vehicle Fee
- Under New Jersey law effective July 1, 2024, zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) are subject to an annual fee in addition to the existing registration fee. The additional fee applies to any vehicle certified as a ZEV pursuant to the California Air Resources Board ZEV standards for the applicable model year. The additional fee is payable in full at the time of initial registration and at every renewal. Beginning July 1, 2024, the annual fee is $250. The annual fee increases $10 per year for four years thereafter. For new ZEV registered, four years of the additional fee is due at the time of four year registration. For example, for new ZEVs registered between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, the additional fee due and payable at the time of initial registration is for the years 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027.
