So i came home and found 2 oily puddles near where my front bumper sits. Did some looking and found the whole front end covered in oil/coolant.

I can't figure out what it is. It smells like ATF

Anyone else have something similar happen to them? Looks like I'm taking it in tomorrow....

This looks like you were following behind someone who was losing fluid and it ran off the front of the truck while parked.
My opinion as well. No way it gets on your front bumper if it’s coming from your truck…unless you were driving 50 MPH in reverse. :)

I think you’re good, but pity the poor ICE driver you were behind.

Just to be safe you might want to have your front motor fluid confirmed to be ok, I agree this is likely from another vehicle, peace of mind is what I'd go for.

If you look at the under side picture you can see the whole skidplate is soaked. Its not as simple as following behind someone. That would be nice.

Will see in the coming week...

Ya, even with that observation, I still think is was someone ahead that had a prob . . .
But as TaxmanHog had said, a inspection might be prudent...

Seems to me that if there's substantial fluid on the top side of any of the undercarriage surfaces, that may be evidence that it came from your truck. If it's all on the bottom or front surfaces, then most likely from another source.

I'm still leaning towards the following someone theory. It looks like a very evenly distributed spray on the front of your truck (not more in one area than the other), so not pointing towards a source on your truck.

Other thoughts:
With ALL of the sensors on these trucks I seriously doubt a catastrophic failure (which this would be) could go 100% unnoticed by the computer.

If there was enough on the front to run down and leave puddles once stopped, there certainly would have been enough running down the front to leave the undercarriage mess you see.

The origin of the leak (if on your truck) would certainly still be leaking enough for you to see a puddle under it and there-by ID the source. If the puddles you found don't point to the source, I'm confident (I know easy for ME to say since its not my truck) that somebody had a VERY leaky transmission in front of you.

Check all of your fluid levels to see if any of them are low. You will have to drop the skid plate to check the reduction gear fluid level. Wipe off all the oil you and see where it shows up again.

You might want to remove the plastic Frunk and see if there is any fluid on the motor.

Curious to see what the dealer says, but in the meantime you can look up the gearbox fluid specs and find out if it is red.

I agree with others I can't image how fluid from the truck could get sprayed on the front bumper.

The whole underside of the truck is coated in oil. Front to back. Ford had it now. It drives totally fine and it could be road debris but it's possible the cooling system or oil could be leaking from a higher pressure pinhole
I'd rather be safe than sorry
