I’m on the developer beta and updated to the new build today, but I still don’t see the NACS option. How did you get it to appear?
I have "Tesla Supercharger" selected in the charging networks option in my vehicle settings in Apple Maps. Haven't checked to see if it would route me to superchargers that aren't open to us though.

I just tried a bunch and it didn’t suggest any that aren’t confirmed to be good in the Tesla app. So I think they got it right.

It works!

I am away and can’t check my vehicle, but I had a few questions.

Did you select only Tesla Supercharger in the Apple Maps vehicle settings?

For Plug Type, does it show NACS in the list now or still only J1772, CCS1?

So I didn’t do anything differently than I used to in Apple Maps. I had already set Tesla as one of my preferred networks in the Apple Maps settings and had both J1772 and CCS1 set. Before the announcement I would never see it actually route me to a Tesla supercharger. But now it does.

Ford F-150 Lightning Apple iOS 18.4 will finally recognize Tesla superchargers in navigation IMG_2340

OK. That’s what I have. I’ll have to see if it works as it would come in handy on a drive I have tomorrow. Was looking for the NACS prompt which I don’t have either.

I’m curious for those of you who have used it for longer drives already if the estimates are reasonable or if it is sending you the chargers when you don’t really need to charge.

I have had to manually do the calculations. It has wanted me to stop on occasion more often than I need to. Seems better than it used to be, but I don’t assume it knows for sure. I usually do the math. For me, it’s part of the fun. I know for others it’s just stress.

The other thing it doesn’t do is tell you how many charging stalls are open at the Tesla location it routed you to. So for that you’ll still need to open the Tesla app if you want to know ahead of time.

thank you. I suppose it’s better to be conservative than not. I wonder if it will learn consumption patterns, take into account, weather conditions, etc. Time will tell.

That seems a better route planner might be the better path for charging information? I want the routing of Apple maps and the planning of a better route planner.

exactly. Just add battery preconditioning to that and we’d all be happy.

I am sure others will chime in but I have a 400+ mile trip this Saturday and will report back if nobody has.

it will be interesting to see if the plans are dynamic. Meaning, as you are going, if it’s overly conservative, does it skip the stop or push it out to another supercharger?

thank you for any insight you can share. I have about 160 mile drive coming up which does not require a stop.

I’m assuming it does. I was driving home yesterday and it thought I couldn’t make it home so it was going to route me to a SC. But as I got closer to home a notification popped up on Apple Maps in CarPlay that was like “you have enough to get home without charging. Remove charge stop?” With a button to do so.
