So I just took my truck in for it 10,000 mi service (~10,500mi) on Monday. I noticed that the 12V battery was low, 47% when I started the truck (using OBDII scanner and Torque app) and got to 50% by the time I arrived at the dealership. I had intended to charge the 12v battery the night before (HVB was 85%) as I knew there was going to be software updates but I forgot. As suspected I got a call from the dealership stating that the updates were failing and they needed more time to investigate. I told them to charge the 12V battery and see if that fixed it. Next day I got a call saying the updates were working and the truck should be ready by 3pm. When I picked up the truck they said they performed the standard maintenance and 2 software recall updates (parking sensors and something else). I asked about the BMS CSP from a while back and they said that did not show up in the system so it might have been cancelled.
I drove the truck home (stopped by Lowes for some items). A couple of things I noticed was that there were a lot of chimes when I start the truck which used to happen from time to time and the sound for the parking sensors changed. Also the truck would NOT unlock when touching the passenger door handle and the radio would NOT stay on when I turn off the truck and didn't open any doors.
Today I plugged my OBDII scanner back in and it was displaying only 20% for the 12V battery level. I decided to hook up my charger but it would not charge and said the battery was full. I performed the BMS reset I found on the forum and now the level shows 58%. Surprisingly enough now the radio will stay on until I open the door and touching the passenger handle will unlock the truck.
Also I was advised that the tires that were on the front, now rear, are very low and should be replaced and that I should be rotating them every 5000mi. That seems way too often to rotate and I expected the tires to last much longer than 1000mi. I don't know if I even want to deal with Ford about the tires and just go through my local shop seeing as how the local shop is only 2 miles away and the dealership is 20.
Any thoughts?
