My Lightning is long gone and the Charge Station Pro was explicitly not part of that deal.

I have been talking with SunRun for 4 months about the getting them to send the unit (most of which I was in possession of the truck).

Only within the couple weeks I was told that they need Ford to mark The vehicle sold. Ford refuses to inform SunRun until the windshield wiper recall is completed. The truck was in the shop for weeks after that recall came out, but of course they didn’t do anything.

Seems like this is a new and arbitrary requirement, and they should just release the unit as they promised in January. Any tips on dealing with them?

Only thing I can suggest is contact the Ford EV team and see if they can help. Dealing with SunRun is a waste of time. It's been almost 5 months since I cancelled a job with them and they have not refunded my deposit to this date.

Every time I call, the Ford specific SunRun Team isn't in office and they tell me to leave a message. Never get a call back, nothing. It's frustrating dealing with this company.

Both my dealer and their Ford rep claim my truck showed as sold yet SunRun said it wasn't and wouldn't send mine. My dealer finally (after two months) sent me a form to sign that they could send to SunRun that basically tells them to send the charger regardless of what their system showed. I finally got it about a week later.

You're running into a classic dilemma. There's a law that has serious consequences for manufacturers and dealers who sell vehicles with open recalls. Then, you're running into the wrinkle that the recall remains open for previously sold vehicles in consumers' hands until it is fixed. It seems like you may have sold the truck when the recall was open, but before it got marked in the system as sold to release the FCSP. Now, they can't mark it sold until they fix the recall. They can't fix the recall until your number comes up because these delivered consumer vehicles are in a different line for recall parts and repairs. Plus, the dealer doesn't have the vehicle even if they had the parts and authorization. It is not a park and tow safety recall. Maybe you can try to explain it as such. Your dealer is the one that should be escalating this to the point of releasing the FCSP.

The language I believe is creating the conundrum:

Ford Motor Company is working closely with its suppliers to produce parts for this repair. When parts become available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for the replacement of the front windshield wiper motor, free of charge (parts and labor). Parts are anticipated to be available in the third quarter of 2023. As soon as parts are available, we will send a letter asking you to contact your dealer to have the front windshield wiper motor replaced - free of charge.
....
As soon as you receive the letter saying your parts are available, please contact your dealer to have your repair made. You can find a local dealer at ford.com/support, if you don't already have one.

We haven't issued instructions to stop driving your vehicle under this safety recall. However, if you have a concern with your windshield wipers, please contact your dealer for further assistance.

Here is the form that I was referring to. Don't know if it'll help since I didn't have an open recall.

This is exactly what is happening. Dealers sold vehicles without completing the recall and to avoid issue they didn't report it sold

Really appreciate everyone's input.

The truck was purchased in Dec 2022, and the recall came out on Jan 9 2023. Maybe they were too slow with submitting the paperwork to Ford?

I actually bought a vehicle from CarMax with an open recall for a passenger seatbelt sensor (something pretty critical of all things). Parts were backordered and many owners had to wait 6 months for it to be completed. It took around 4 months for parts to arrive for mine. So the open recall could have tied up all of those cars for 6 months? CarMax is pretty good about following the letter of the law.
