Here's how it all went down: I bought a Lightning, my wife decided she REALLY liked it, and so I had to go out and buy another Lightning if I wanted to drive one. (As an aside, it looks like she'll be driving the new one now, while I'll be getting "mine" back... go figure.)

I'd be curious to know how many of you also have two Lightnings in your driveway?

Let me also say, for the record, that some car dealerships really suck. I was "treated like family" and offered "the lowest price possible, that's really a great deal!" before pointing out that their great deal was >$10K above the price advertised on their web page for that same truck. I get that they are trying to make money, and walking in the door I fit the demographic for "probably not tech-savvy," but tactics like that make them just look stupid.

Anyhow. What an insanely great vehicle (and now I get to drive one again). Thanks @Ford Motor Company!

More than 50% of prospective buyers won't catch what they tried to do to you unfortunately. They do it because it works. Most buyers are ill-informed to be charitable.

My wife doesn't like driving the truck locally, parking and all. On a trip, she's fine driving some, but she prefers her Mach-E.

My wife is afraid of driving any truck, so no extra Lightnings here.

I'm slowly working her up to a possible EQE or EQS but she's also fearing the "complication" with charging, I told her the 975 miles you put on your E300 last year isn't gonna be a problem if she only has to charge the new car quarterly, I'll take care of the plugging in as needed.

Exactly my situation. My wife loves the truck, but only as a passenger. She won't even consider driving it. She's happy with her RAV4 Hybrid. Happy wife, happy life!!!

Same situation except wife's car is a Highlander V6.

Before I traded my Mach-e for the lightning, I tried to convince her to sell the Highlander and we would keep the Mach-e. No go. The good thing about the Highlander, is the last year of their V6 is probably a million mile car. I don't see that going anywhere for a long time.

My wife freaks out every time I park the truck, she would never drive it, but loves riding in it. She has been a Tesla girl since 2013 when we got our first Model S, then 2016 Model S, then a 2023 Model X, an as of last week a 2025 Model X ( Dec 26 2023 build was totaled by a DUI driver 5 weeks ago with only 14K miles on it).

This is hilarious because the only thing I don’t like about my truck is that my wife is IN LOVE with it, which was totally unexpected. She commutes so drives it 3 days a week and also wants to drive it more if I don’t need it. We need an ICE vehicle so getting another isn’t an option but I can see why you did!

My wife was exactly like this. No way she would even consider driving a truck but then I was dumb and told her to try it a few blocks just for fun. She then said, it drives like a car, but being so high up you can see more, and all the cameras make it so easy to back up and its amazing in the snow. Now I am in the same position as the OP. I never get to drive my truck.... AHHHHH. I'm not buying another one though. Not because I don't love the truck, we have no room and she doesn't need a truck. I am hoping now that winter 4x4 season is coming to an end that she will go back to her car. All I can do is hope... Please think of me in your prayers... Otherwise I might need to start up some sort of lightning withdrawal association.

@Ford Motor Company!
I didn't get another lightning but after my wife drove it she couldn't stand driving her ICE vehicle any more, she picked a Volvo C40. The C40 is in the shop now for a rattling noise coming from the sunroof and the gave us a brand new loaner XC40 which is the same car but ICE. She hates it and keeps getting out and leaving the motor running. :)

Yep, 2 here as well. Best truck ever and I've had gas F-150, 2x RAM 1500, Tacoma and 3500 Cummins diesel RAM so not my first truck rodeo, it really is that good...
Cheers

Well aren't you special.. I am really jealous. I would like to have 2 even though my wife would not drive the other one.

I'm the commuter, so the Lightning is my wife's. (She also had the ICE F150 and traded it in for the Lightning)
Having said that, I do occasionally wish I could swap with her. It drives like a car and is spiffy as hell.
But it's just too expensive to drive.

My wife drives an i4 that we bought 23 months ago. 15,000+ miles on thus far. She has never been to a DCFC*. Not. Once.

* I however, have taken that car over the road and thus the car itself has indeed visited a DCFC.
