More range and faster charging is great, but the next 10 to 20 years there will always be an upcoming EV with more range and faster charging. With the exception of extended range and faster charging, the things that GM seems to have touted (glass roof, 24"wheels, etc.) do nothing for me. The tighter turning radius is nice, but not worth waiting a year plus longer for.
24” inch wheels and a glass roof are reasons not to buy the Silverado. 24” wheels may look cool, but unless you are going to race on asphalt with tight turns I don’t see any benefit of large wheels. My car currently has a glass roof and it even has a shade that blocks about 75% of the light and I still get blinded if the sun is almost straight above me.
I plan to use the Lightning for camping and for home back up power. Ford seems to be the only car maker serious about Pro Power though. The 2022 Tundra hybrid only has a 400 watt inverter while the Sienna, Rav4, and Highlander have a 1500 watt inverter. Kia and Hyundai are adding V2L with is a good first step, but still not 7.2kW. Ford now has three vehicles that can power your house, the F150 Hybrid, F150 Lightning, and E-Transit.
