Apple Maps EV Routing

Hi there, I am a new Ford Lightening Flash owner, came over from Tesla. I’m trying to use Apple Map EV navigation however based on the videos I’m watching, I’m not getting the options I’d expect to see. After connecting my phone to CarPlay, I go to my phone and launch maps and inside of Apple Maps I click on my profile pics and supposedly there’s an option to further connect the truck in that menu? I’m not seeing this option. What am I missing?

My carplay connection for maps WAS working up until about 3-4 days ago. Since then, it was not getting an updated signal from the car to update the battery percentage so I deleted the car profile on my phone in the profile menu.

In the past, it would prompt to reconnect when connecting it to the car again. It has not done so.

My best guess is that there is something that's broken/not working with the connection. Sounds like it's affecting a larger number of people so I'd anticipate an update/fix to restore the issue (from either apple or ford).

Mine stopped updating the truck info after the last Apple update. I’m hoping to see an update from Apple and/or Ford will fix it.

Mine shows last updated 1 day ago, which was last time I drove truck.

The same thing was happening for me. I was able to add my truck only when I wasn’t connected to CarPlay. Seems kind of backwards to me but maybe give that a try.

Not to clog the thread, but my Apple Maps battery percentage and connection stopped working. I tried to be clever and deleted my truck from the app. And now I cannot re-add it because... Cue the shocking surprise music here... The connection wasn't working before and it's still not working so Apple Maps isn't seeing my Lightning anymore. I'm assuming like everyone else it will get fixed in a future update. But for those who are like me and go 17 levels deep on troubleshooting, in this case, just leave it alone and cross your fingers. It started with the most recent iOS security update to iOS 18.3.1 which is likely what broke it.

Thanks for that, given I'm new it's never worked... but I can confirm for what it's worth, my iPhone is also on 18.3.1.

For what its worth, I have iOS 18.3, not 18.3.1, and battery estimates in Apple Maps broke last week for me also.

Just curious being new... did Ford push an update on their end last week?

I have an OTA update in my cue. I turned auto updates off because my truck is working fine and I am afraid automatic OTAs might mess something up. December 2024 purchase.

Not exactly sure what others are experiencing exactly but my Apple Maps still works just fine, except for the battery percentage is not working. It gives me the same percentage but the GOM seems to be correct. I took the photos below last night.

All are the same picture just close-up of the entertainment and the dash screens!

This is a lightning thing not a software version issue. I can connect to my Mach-e just fine. My guess is a software certificate expired that encrypted the connection. Lightning is always behind on updates from ford.
