Battery issue at 100% only 298 miles

My 2024 Lightning At 100 % charge the day I picked it up new from the dealer only reads 298 miles they tried to pull the driving history on me, but truck had 50 miles they still will not acknowledge there is an issue I can clear history drive 45mph windows down no a/c and still can't get but 2.0 to 2.1 on mine The dealers around me hate me any one know if there is a number for ford to get results Dealers are no help.

So far you have described only a Guess-O-Meter issue (estimated range), not a battery issue. Most of us tend to ignore the range estimate.

You could check that your speedometer is accurate compared to GPS speed. But mainly just wait and see if it matches reality after you drive it for a while, like a few thousand miles.

What model did you buy? pro, xlt, flash, lariat or platinum? and how long have you had it? Note that the extended range battery in a lightning platinum is estimated to be 20 miles less than the other models as the platinum weighs more.

as mentioned by @potato the guess-o-meter is the trucks best guess at your estimated range. it will get better over time as the computer learns your driving style, the speed your driving and the weather conditions.

Actually 2.1 this time of year driven for fun a few times is about normal. The estimated range comes from 2.4 m/kWh that involves stop & go which the truck loves.
Relax & enjoy the smooth quiet ride and that acceleration.

OP appears to be in Florida so winter shouldn't be a factor. There could actually be something wrong with their battery pack, but the guess-o-meter isn't really enough evidence to prove anything. Will have to wait and see if any other charging or efficiency numbers are way out of whack, or if any other symptoms show up.

OK, so let's make this easier

Go check your tire pressure.

Then do a 10-20 mile loop, long straight empty highway being best. Drive 10 miles one way, then turn around and drive right back. Drive at 65mph.

Keep the windows up. Use the ac if needed. Set the cruise. Don't draft or tailgate.

You should be in the 2.2mi/kwh range.

Check you miles/kwh, there is a current trip, which is wildly in accurate for short trips, then an A and B trip. Leave say A alone and see what the cumulative m/kwh average. After 18k miles I'm 2.1 m/kwh, no where close to advertised range.

There is nothing wrong with your battery and nothing your dealer can or will do. The truck generates range and power usage estimates based on a number of factors and it is almost useless when the truck is brand new. As with any vehicle, your range depends on how YOU drive it and maintain it. Since you live in FL while cold may not be a major range impact, heat will. As will initial and final SOC, tire pressure and tread wear, load in the vehicle, wind, rain, etc. The vehicles range estimates will get better with time but know that they are ALWAYS conservative values until you get to within 30 miles of a dead battery. Then you get very close to real data. I have about 16,000 miles on my December 2023 build Lightning Lariat and I average around 2.0 to 2.1 Kw/mi total. On the highway I drive between 70-75, I do keep crap in my truck so it's always got some extra "junk in the trunk," and I tend to accelerate smoothly and try to brake slowly and smoothly. I get about 300-320 miles of range in optimal conditions (dry roads, 65-70F, 100% to 10% SOC, light winds, properly inflated tires, etc.) which is what I expect. If the weather is bad or I'm being impatient, I get more like 270 miles of range. Be patient and be realistic. The Lightning isn't magic and Ford hasn't yet discovered a perfect battery. Nor has anyone else. Either way, there is no data to suggest any issue with your battery. I have expertise in this field so this isn't a hunch on my part. Your truck and battery are performing as expected. If you do have a problem, the truck will tell you and you will know.
