I have NOT had the 24b56 front sensor fix done by the dealer yet, and I get the same warning "Electrical System Drain Service Required". Got the warning on my phone App first while I was charging the Lightning (2022 Lariat ER-2 years old this week). After charge was complete and still plugged in, got the warning "Plug in to Maintain 12V Battery." I'm not going to bother doing anything myself and let them have a look at it.

Same thing happening to me.

Truck went in yesterday for the same CSP update. Got it back with the weird low quality sensor beeps coming from somewhere. Same low battery “system shutting down to save power” message. App won’t connect since truck goes into that power save mode, so phone as a key unreliable now.

I called and asked if they put the battery on a maintainer during the update. They said they turn the truck on and plug it in so it all runs off the High Voltage Battery instead. The charge history shows they def didn’t plug the HVB in.

I tried to explain that the HVB really only controls the drive and hvac systems, and only charges the 12v in certain scenarios. All other tech stuff runs off the 12v as far as I understand, since it is shared with ICE vehicles.

Pretty disappointed. Going to try and charge the 12v tonight and see if that resolves this.

Did anyone with the sensor beeps coming from a low quality speaker see that resolve with a charged 12v too? That’s a weird thing to have happen with this CSP.

@Ford Motor Company I know you can only lead the horse to water, but something really needs to be reinforced with these technicians NOT following service procedures!

If it's safe & convenient, you can let the truck recharge the 12v LVB:
  • Start the truck, set parking brake
  • Turn off the 30 minute shutdown timer.
  • Turn off the lights,
  • Turn off the E-HEAT or set lowest temperature (not sure where you are)
  • Set the fan speed manually to above 5 {6/7}
  • Let it run / idle for 4 or 5 hours.
  • Lock doors

If the issue happens again.. Unplug the BMS connector at the 12Volt battery then reconnect it.

I had the issue with my lightning after doing updates. Seems the my Power supply I use for all the updates tripped the BMS out.. It was reporting 0% charge for the LVB. I tried everythign even long drive home from work..

All it took was unplug that for a few mins and it was immediately fixed.

It sounds like you may have connected the power source incorrectly, bypassing the BMS sensor?

You do not connect the power supply to the battery, you connect it to the jump posts under the passenger side panel.

The method you follow can result in the BMS not knowing the proper SOC of the 12v battery. Charging the 12v via a Battery Tender, over a few days, returns it to 100%. Then, letting the truck sit locked for 8 hours or more resets the BMS, or you can reset it manually.
