Not sure if you are aware, Ford does run an Early Access program - https://www.earlyaccess.ford.com/

I've signed up. It says my vehicle is enrolled, but I'm not sure it means I'm truly in and accepted yet.

I'm in the early access program and the only thing I have seen happen is them enrolling me in some drive and survey program starting next month. I have no other emails or anything from them. I've been in the EAP for about 14 months for my Mach E.

The EA program will have multiple features that they want to try. So, you may find yourself "accepted" for one feature and not others. For example, on the Mach-E, one feature is early access to updates. Another one is testing the Blue Oval Charge Network discount, whereby you get the EA and other discount rates (EA now, future others) for an annual fee - they rolled this out and had to yank it back, so now it's in EA. Another feature is testing Intelligent Range, designed to make the GOM more accurate.

My 2021 was never accepted.
My 2022 was accepted, but so far the only feature I'm testing is Intelligent Range.

You can decline on anything you're offered, but can't control what you're offered.

Sounds a bit like Tesla's program - they also used the local service center as a way to find people. I got to test the Android app, the LTE modem module, the new 4.x UI, various new infotainment options, some of the new drive firmware for range-savings, among other things. Then they laid off the person running it and their laptop with the entire database of testers was wiped and their records were gone.

Interesting. I assume this is what “we” used to call “friendly user trials”. My former employer would use employees who had the widget but our product did not have an initial first cost of $40-100k! Part of testing before released for general availability, ie, pushed to production.
