Ran configuration and then PMI on DSM, attempting to bring back Heated Steering Wheel and heated / cooling seat functions. Buttons on Dash do not respond.
Suggestions?

You ran config first before you ran PMI? Why? I’m concerned that if you ran config first you may have loaded corrupted as-built data if using the Nano and the truck hasn’t reported its correct as-built data to the server yet. But I’m speculating. Time for Level 3 support. Might want to PM @Jesse-Infotainment .

Do you have any asbult backups from FORScan?

use one of those to get it restored. You don’t need to use FRDS to repair it

Now that I have my APIM unstuck, if anyone gets an opportunity can they please check and see what I now have available? I had GSM + ABS when I last finished.

Now that the weather is starting to warm back up and I got over 1.7.1 I'm looking to get back on that horse again. Still would like to see an OTA in the meantime but I'll likely splurge for a month of FRDS this time.

The IPMA has me handcuffed in the truck. It's a doozi. :)

Yeah I'm not exactly looking forward to the IPMA when I get there... How long have you been at with that module?

I'm guessing it's been a little over an hour watching it erase block by block. Says 82%

Or put another way, it's been 1232 windshield wiper sweeps. ?

When I lost my power running boards I did a PMI on the DSM with no improvement until I did a self test after the PMI. This fixed it. You might try a self test on the DSM if you haven't.

I'm amazed that some of these updates could even be considered for OTA. Incredibly complex and risky to deliver to many thousands upon thousands of trucks sitting in garages and driveways all over the world.
But I'm equally surprised that any dealership could carry the burden of delivering them in a bay.

I'm all about OTA and software generally making things easier... I didn't mind the Sync 3 updates via a USB and uploading an XML after the fact at least you could get the software online and do it via USB.

I'm also all about tinkering with things as long as it is reasonable. However there will be probably 10's of thousands of trucks that see the bare minimal updates or very few. What about those folks who don't know or don't care? Everything is increasingly connected and lack of updates is generally not a good thing.

Hopefully Ford gets a bit better with the Sync4 and all the new trucks with software. Seems like the community here has had way better luck applying updates vs the dealer!

So I finished… it all went successfully as far as I could tell. Ran network test on mongoose and the IPMA still says update along with the PSCM.
Instead I’m going to leave the truck off for 30 minutes, drive it. And see again later.

VCX Nano will not corrupt your configuration data in As-Built, only the "NODE" data that contain the report from the recent Network Scan (if performed) in FDRS. He should have definitely not load configuration data into the module (if changed in ForScan) prior to PMI. Hope he has a configuration backup. If he does, he needs to load the default configuration back to the module via ForScan, then run a Network Scan in FDRS if he has the Mongoose-Plus device (DO NOT do it with VCX Nano) and then do the PMI.

If he has VCX Nano, do the PMI then restore original configuration with ForScan.

So like 4-5 hours from start to finish?
