Environmental controls frozen

Had this problem for a few days a while back and it went away, but it's back.

When I turn the truck on the environmental controls (cabin temp, heated seats, defrost, AC, etc) are all dead. The recirculate air button is lit up, the A/C button flashes, and the fans are blowing cold air at maximum. I can turn the truck off and on a few times (sometimes it takes 6 or 8 reboots) and it goes away. But if I park at a store for a few minutes and come back to turn it on I have to go through it all again.

Anyone have an idea on a possible fix or should I just take it in to the dealer and get it checked out? Still under warranty just trying to avoid the hassle

Have you tried a 12v negative battery terminal disconnect ?

So I didn't get around to trying the 12v battery trick.... But I did happen to just let it blow the cold air while I was driving and it eventually stopped after maybe 5 mins on it's own and hasn't happened again the last few times I started the truck. Weird!

Sounds like a climate control module (or modules) didn't boot up on vehicle start and booted or reset during your 5 minute drive. I would disconnect the 12 volt battery negative terminal for 10 minutes. When you reconnect it, make sure both terminals are tight. That will sometimes help to reboot sticky modules.

Try a Sync reset and check the coolant level. To do a Sync reset hold volume down and skip ahead on the steering wheel until the Sync screen resets. Sync resets solve a lot of weird glitches.

If the coolant is low you'll have heating issues.
