NEXT FORSCAN CLASS ASSIGNMENT: See if any of us can find an Active Air Dam DISABLE. I have no damage, ice stuck, etc but randomly get the message about an issue with the Active Air Dam. Has never been stuck in down position. I assume it is just not always lowering. Very common issue and even the dealer said not worth replacing parts as you'll just get the message again but with new parts.

This is supposed to result in a 4% MPG advantage for ICE trucks at highway speeds (doesn't lower until 45 mph) but I'd sacrifice this by disabling or removing the air dam vs the impending collision with a rubber dog or other road debris.

Not a big job to remove (12 small bolts) and all reports are no codes or messages once removed. Just seal up the 2 plugs. Still, easier if the 2 actuators that lower/raise it could be disabled via code.
When it warms up, I'll look further (I've already looked through various modules that made sense but nothing found to disable). Any ideas welcome and I can share (even share with the ICE community as the active air dam is pretty much on all 2021+ F-150s.
I just had my dealer come up with the scan, and they are going to replace both of the actuators. I figure I'll get them replacing them for the next 10 years or until it stops :D

Forscan doesn't work like that.

In general, you can't enable/disable specific warnings. An exception is It can do things like disable warnings for lights (and past F-150 owners disabled that because when retrofitting LEDs for halogen lights the truck thought the lights were bad and would hyperflash).

The air dam fault message is displaying an actual issue with the vehicle. One that Ford needs to address and remedy.

Unless you hook up a Go Pro while driving (or have someone else look) you'd have no indication if the Air Dam is working or not. It only activates after a certain speed threshold has been met.

Also, if this was something that could be solved by Forscan, it would have been discovered by the ICE crowd who also experience similar issues.

I wouldn't want issues to get ignored.

But as I noted, this will admittedly not be resolved for the foreseeable future, so a disable would be perfect. Seems like from my experience with FORscan, it would have a codes solution but possibly having an EPA element, it could be blocked...

I look forward to being proved wrong.

Good luck.

I believe this should work for pros and XLTs without bed lights. Someone with a pro would need to check for the plugs. Lariats and platinums already have them.
Which kit did you use?

Has anybody done the Glare free on an XLT and can confirm they see a difference. I did the needed changes on mine and I see the setting on the screen change to glare free as well as the green auto headlights icon in the dash. But no performance in the headlights. They no longer do the swivel around corners, or auto high beam, or the glare free split around cars. I am going above 35mph as well as it’s dark enough and no city lights. All normal roads and locations auto high beam would work.
This was a setting I was interested in, disappointing if it doesn't work on the XLT.

I just programmed the increased DRL brightness, but as soon as I was finished, no DRLs even come on with flashlight. Worked perfectly before. Now nothing.

reverted codes back and it still doesn’t turn them on. Reset the mid screen without luck.
My truck is a pro, maybe that is why it didn’t work? Not sure why it won’t even turn them on now though.
Any advice ??

Has anyone with a MY22 running SYNC 3.5.4 gotten the 75th Anniversary splash screen to work on a 15.5in display?

I don’t have a pro but I noticed zero change with the DRL brightness with the changes made in forscan. Silly question but did you screen grab or take a photo of the exact coding prior to attempting to modifying it? I also had to cycle the ignition for other changes to both take effect and revert back to stock.

Okay. good info.
today while driving, i noticed my DRLs were on, but no dash notification the little green light. I basically went back to stock and then reprogrammed ,this time using the DRL brightness codes again, but cycling the APIM each new code change. that apparently worked somewhat, however, no obvious brightness change. pretty bummed overall.

So I finally got to confirm that the glare-free headlights work today! It was really foggy out, so the high-beams would reflect significantly off the fog, but the low-beams didnt. So it was really interesting to see the 'wedges' of light turn on/off as cars went by!

Its really interesting, and I suspect it'll be much nicer when I go out on country roads!

Can anyone tell me what the "Unreal Sync Theme" is? I have searched to no avail. I see on the 12in screens it changes the appearance of sync but what does it do to 15.5 screen?
The Unreal engine is a rendering engine. Lightnings have all had it since Day 1. The ICE trucks for '21 and most of '22 did not have it, it added the new rendering to their systems and just brought ICE up to speed with what we already had.

Got my truck back from the shop today and set myself up with glare free headlights. Seems to have worked like a charm. I did the 5-blink turn signals and turned off the seatbelt minders, too (I always wear a seat belt, but fewer chimes is always better). FWIW the lane change blinkers are in the SCCM; that bit is missing in the first post of this thread.

So, you're referencing the white lights on the sides of the headlights? No lightbar?
