Description
On your vehicle, it may be possible for an internal short circuit in the high voltage battery to occur after repeated charge and discharge cycles.
Safety Risk
If a short circuit occurs after repeated charge and discharge cycles, there is an increased risk of a vehicle fire. Owners can reduce this risk by limiting charging of the high voltage battery to 80 percent state of charge before new battery arrays are installed in your vehicle.
Remedy
Parts are not available. Ford Motor Company is working to provide parts for this repair. When the remedy becomes available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge. The remedy is anticipated to be available in the second quarter of 2025.
