This has been my standard commute this week. 2.5-2.9 is pretty normal both ways. Climate control set to 70 with my seat cooler on level 1. Speeds range from bumper to bumper (yeah Bay Area) to 70ish MPH. have some big hills and highways, twists and turns.

This was my best trip so far, coming home from a State Park. Saw the number breach 5.0 a few times. not bad considering the way there averaged 2.5. Pardon the dust, we were hiking in the Redwoods. šŸŒ²šŸŒ²

I love my daily drive with my Lightning:

3-3.5 mi/kWh

Passing by so many gas stations that I have ignored their prices.

Driving by so quickly to and from work makes me happy to have a zippy ride.

Charge once a week if that.

Based on the efficiency i get with my Bolt on my normal commute (probably 60%-70% highway) i expect iā€™ll see 320 with the Lighting. I get 290-300mi with the Bolt (259 EPA miles). The highway portion of my commute has mixed traffic, some days itā€™s 60mph, some days itā€™s 80mph. I do drive 80 when the traffic allows it.

This is my all time high to work. 7.1 in my MachE as my 6/6 build Lightning is Still in Dearborn!

Thanks for the tips here, took off 1pedal and am driving and coasting like my Prius days and the Efficiency has vastly improved. I'm sold on Coasting vs Regen of 1pedal, though I love 1pd.

Iā€™ve been doing mixed driving with 55mph on the highway. After 400+ miles, I am at 2.6 kw/h average. When charging today, the truck said I had 318 miles of range at 92% battery charge. Had I charged to 100%, I would have had 345 miles of range.

I posted this in another thread but I'll also post it here as it seems relevant.

I've been pushing to get mine broken in for our camping trip Sunday (need to tow 6k~, manual says put 1k miles on before towing). I just put in 800 miles, 99% highway, always going 72 on the highway (bluecruise/adaptive CC), sometimes 75 to pass. Averaged 2.1-2.2 mi/kw across 800 miles (so like 275-288 range).

Think this puts me spot on for the highway EPA rating and maybe slightly better. Don't think EPA tests at above 70MPH.

Sorry no city/mixed driving data yet really. The tiny bit I did do I was getting like 2.6-2.8 doing 45ish for 10ish miles.

Was the Prius behind you blowing their horn? :p
Those damn polluting Priuses. Driving slow and causing global warming.

Was just reading the EPAā€™s highway tests are done at max of 60, with some random variation downwards throughout the test to a ~40mph floor.

The EPA does not condone driving 70 for anyone concerned with fuel economy

Its not a sustained 60 mph for the primary test, though the Supplemental test does have +60 mph segmentsā€¦ā€¦ā€¦.

2200 miles averaging about 2.9kWh per mile. This is with my fat ass, a Decked drawer system (700lbs of crap in there) and almost daily (really, you think youā€™re faster off the line) acceleration (I just donā€™t like listening to ā€œtunedā€ exhaust šŸ˜‚). That said this is San Diego so not too much sustained higher speed, but a lot of up and down hill and a lot of stop and go. Overall I think kWh per mile is out performing my wifeā€™s MYP (and her vehicle Is carrying nothing). Charging to 100% for the first time tonight so I will update with computer estimated range. At 90% itā€™s 236 so definitely not 320.

We got a hypermiler here! šŸ˜„

Well I've only driven the truck 50 miles, So I can't add much here. I am going to a lot more highway driving this weekend. I'll report back after that.

Good one, but the real frustration following most Priii around town is how they maximize regen braking while slowing down. The problem is, they have such a tiny battery relative to the weight of the car that they have to brake sloooooooowly to maximize regen, where we can one-pedal it and slow down quickly and get the same effect with a big battery.

The good news for you is that jackrabbit starts don't really impact efficiency for EVs like they do for ICE vehicles. It is all about sustained speed.
