Jallen, are you waiting on a clock spring? What part number are you getting? I can't seem to find anyone that will honor my order. Any thoughts you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I honestly haven’t looked into it yet. Just wanted the leather steering wheel. The heated part not that important to me. I’ll tackle it when I’m done with the other laundry list of upgrades I’m doing first. Sorry not more help!

So, I completed the swap of a Lariat Leather Heated steering wheel onto my Pro. I’ve read about at least one other member on here doing it, but I can’t find the thread again!
Anyway, It all went well, but none of the buttons on the Left side of the new steering wheel work. As you can see, the buttons are slightly different, but I dont remember whoever did this mod before saying they lost functionality.
Am I missing anything? Really the only button I’m needing is cruise control. The others I never use.
Thanks in advance!

This looks so awesome and I just ordered the parts you mentioned. Thank you so much. Do you have a quick "how-to" on the process or a link or anything? I'm sorry if this is common knowledge but I'm new. I love my Pro but the steering wheel upgrade would take it to the next level!

I just completed this mod with the help of a neighbor. I bought a leather wrapped wheel off ebay without the heating element. (great deal at like $118) I just wanted leather instead of the polyurethane. Button layout was the same on the new wheel so I didnt even have to switch out the buttons! Feels so much better than the stock Pro trim wheel.

I'm starting the process of gathering materials for this project. I will be adding the heating element.

One question I can't find an answer to, do our trucks (mine being a Pro) have "adaptive steering"? That affects the correct SCCM/Clockspring to buy. I currently have lane keep assist with the alert feedback (vibration), also want to retain that functionality.

Most threads mention this as the correct part: ML3Z3F791BB (includes the turn stalk with auto rain) or ML3Z-14A664-B

I might also need a power harness for the Clockspring which I'm trying to source as well.

Just want to verify I get all the right parts before I start tackling this. I don't want to replace the HVAC control module as I don't have Ventilated seats. I plan on adding a soft button via Forscan.

@jallen

Did you notice if our vehicles had these 2 wires? This affects whether or not we need a power harness for the Heated function...

the standard, poly Pro wheel doesnt have either of those, here is a pic of it, I just swapped for a leather wheel 2 weeks ago (non-heated, so the new one had the same connections). and the place where that 2nd connector would go is blank in the clockspring.

I think this video might be a good reference, i think youd have to do the same thing once you get a heated steering wheel

Yep, I already have that bookmarked. I found someone who will make a Plug N Play harness for the Heating Module.

Well after some research, and chatting with folks on the ICE said I have some bad news.

It turns out it's not as simple as replacing the clockspring. The entire SCCM needs to be replaced. That part is $200+ (after shipping). With a new steering wheel, bolt, SCCM, and wiring Harness it's looking like it will be in the $450-$500 range.

At that price I might be passing on this mod.

Right there with you. I put on the leather wheel today and it’s great. For the cost and effort to get the heated feature I’m definitely thinking it’s not worth it. Adding it to the list of other things not worth the effort along with the workstation and the front light bar.

Yep.

I already own a Front Lightbar, since I need to hack up my grill to install I'm waiting until someone else gets it working.

Definitely hoping it’s possible but that lightbar thread going dark is not a great sign.
