My Ford Pass Patience Is Wearing Thin

Is it THAT hard for a multi-billion dollar automaker to provide a reliable app with reliable updates? I guess that’s a dumb question. There is ALWAYS a problem with Ford Pass. And when that problem is fixed, another 2 or 3 take its place. Can’t start the truck remotely one day. Cant set a departure the next. Get the message for the Ford Security Package on the app. Nope. Not available… BUT, I did get the same damn offer in the mail, too. Can’t set a charging limit, or change it because the app goes nuts.
Then, try and FIND something on the app, and it’s like a preschooler set it up. No rhyme or reason. Plug & Charge under Charging? Sure, it should be, right? It’s C-H-A-R-G-I-N-G RELATED! Nope. Let’s put THAT under access & permission. Then, we’ll put REPEAT on a departure time, that I ONLY WANT TO DO ONCE, because the friggin app won’t let me PRECONDITION NOW!
Guess I’m fed up with the unreliability of Fords incompetence. WAIT! That IS reliable! Always incompetent.
I don’t know if one day my truck is going to charge, or not. If it will be to 80% or some other percentage. If it will be warm in the morning when I go out, or if the seat heaters decided to actually turn on that time. Or, if THIS time it will charge to 80% when fast charging, or pick its own level.
C’mon already! Get the preschoolers out from behind the Acer 285X and put someone on task who knows what the heck is going on and can back check BEFORE they release a damn update!

Hmmm.... I've had my Lariat for 15 months with 12k miles. Ford pass has never been a problem. Could it be better? of course, but find me an application that couldn't be improved. I'm thankful for what it does, and stopped worrying about what I hope it could be. No matter how many features they add they can't please all 20k+ owners.

My phone as a key took a shit today. Wouldn't unlock doors or start the car. No combination of reboots or swearing fixed it today.

Its almost funny at this point.

The automatic tailgate is so annoying. I have it disabled in the settings but it still behaves in automatic mode so if I need to get into the back of the truck when I’m hooked up to my camper on a road trip, the tailgate comes down and I put my hand in the way and block it from hitting the jack and then it beeps and then it starts going up and then I stop it from going up and then it beeps and then it stops and freezes halfway. And if you need to haul something with the tailgate down, it flops around like a fish out of water for some reason

as far as FordPass I don’t bother with the departure times or any of that anymore preconditioning ain’t worth the kilowatts imo. Just charge before you wanna go it’ll warm up the battery anyways. Remote start is handy though

This is the best Ford can do. I know this because my wife has a 2022 Navigator which still uses the old version of FordPass but calls it Lincoln Way.

Apparently, the Lincoln way is to enter battery saver mode all the time so no connected services work, including PaaK. And even if connected services does work you're going to need to reboot your phone if you want to use PaaK.

My wife stopped using Lincoln Way months ago. FordPass has worked great for me. I haven't carried a FOB since I got PaaK working. It's not without glitches but it's as good as it gets from the blue oval.

I tried to set a departure time to precondition the batteries about a year ago. It never worked. Then I started getting messages that the cabin was warmed and ready to go...at 3:19AM. Now I cannot even find the screen to set a departure time. I have been writing software for 54 years. I have not seen such a cluster since Y2K.

I got that email from Ford telling me that PAAK got broken by the update. What they didn't mention to expect was that the app now hangs at the Ford logo screen and never completes the load/initialization of the app. Not a huge deal for me, but an annoyance for sure. Running a Pixel 8 Pro, so apparently the issues aren't just with Samsung.

Complaining? I guess if your butler came to you in the morning and said “Sir, your Lightning didn’t charge overnight” you’d just say “No worries, James. Bring around the BMW. I’m only heading to Starbucks”. Some of us need to have our trucks charge. What a douche.

My android app has worked pretty well other than the odd outage.

It can be buggy at times but find me software that isn't.

If you have legitimate problems with fordpass then send in a report.

If you did actually write code for 54 years then you would have figured out how to use your app.

Ford tech services told me that Paak will work on my 24 Flash. I guess their tech people are clueless.

Still can't get my text messages to show up on my screen. Every now and then, something will appear.
