Picked up my Lariat 8/30. Sitting in it today at a light, I noticed a couple different panels with dings or marring. Got 200 miles of seat time for reference.

Am I being too picky? Do others have marks like these? What would you do? I can't not see them now.

I don't see the problem in the first picture. The second seems minor. The third is a known issue. I think people have been putting weight on the grille overnight and it settles down.

Now, that being said, if my truck shows up like that next week, I'm not going to worry about it. I remember guys with deformation issues on the 2015 to 2020 dashes by the defrost vents and they had horrible NVH problems after being repaired. The fix was worse than the problem.

Cropped and aannotated. They look like scratches / chips.

The speaker grille would be an easy fix. The rest would probably necessitate a dash replacement. That is a timely and ugly repair.

Good luck with your choice.

He has a point. My truck had a nick top center of the dash on the passenger side. Sucks but in my experience with a full dash tear down for a small replacement netted the rest of my ownership with noises in the dash board. I agree it’s shit but they had my truck and would happily sell it to the next dude with a fist full of cash. Had me by the short hairs

You could try an Armor All cleaner to take care of the scuff marks. The speaker grille is an easy replacement. You could try taking a heat gun to the last one. Warm it up a little and press down on it with a plastic body pry tool.

Take it to the dealership and see what they say. If you want it completely replaced I'm sure the warranty department will have no problem approving it.

I'm with @Pioneer74 - those all look very small. While you'll see them, likely no one else ever will. I also believe there is a good possibility that the fix could be worse than what you have now.

My Subaru had issues with some foam trim popping out of the dash. I talked to their service department, and they basically said "we'll fix it but you really don't want us tearing the dash apart".

I think I would heed the same advice here.

better to enjoy your new truck instead of worrying about such small blemishes.

Not always bad...I bought a totaled 2011 Audi Q5 that I had to replace the dashboard on and strip the entire interior except for the door panels, front seats, and carpet. Drove it for 9 years before someone cut me off and totaled it. Had zero squeaks and rattles in the car. It all depends on who changes it and whether they take the time to do it properly or decide to cut corners.

There will almost always be slight imperfections on any new vehicle if you look for them. Sometimes it is best to just not look as once you see it, it takes a long time to get used to it.

At least we don’t have leather dash boards where the leather separates. Just ask some Volvo owners (fortunately, I don’t have the leather dash - dodged that bullet).

I don't know if I'm just looking to find things now... Looks like the paint in the door jams is super thin... Spots are both on the driver's front and rear doors.... Haven't even had the heart to look at the passenger side.
