New Lightning Lariat owner - what is the adapter I need for the Tesla supercharger network?

And how do I get it? I signed up in the Ford charging site to be notified when they are available, but it sounds like it might take a long time… ugh. Are there any options out there?

Not planning to use a lot of public charging, but would be great to be able to charge up at the huge & fast network!

ahh ok.. slowly getting what’s going on here! I’ll start to dig into the various posts, but for now - is there a general consensus on these A2Z adapters? Do they work? Are they suitable quality?

I have the A2Z Typhoon Pro and it works no problem. A2Z just issued a recall on their V1 adapter but they're working on calling those back and replacing with the V2 which is the Typhoon Pro. Reason for the recall was that Tesla didn't like the manual locking mechanism holding the NACS handle to the adapter.

Other one would be the Lectron Vortex which also had its own recall due to the locking mechanism not working at all. That has since been rectified and replacements are on their way out.

Ford recently partnered with Lectron to manufacture Ford branded adapters from Lectron so they can get their hands on more supply than the Tesla built adapters.

As long as you stick with a safety certified make and model, you should be ok. Stay away from the Ali express/amazon fakes. Not worth saving a few dollars when your vehicle is worth tens of thousands. You can't go wrong with either Lectron or A2Z but I have the latter personally.

You may also want to consider buying the package of the SuperCharger adapter, Typhoon Pro, and the Destination Charger adapter, Stellar, because it's a great deal. Use code FORDFORUM to get the best price (see below).
