Overall satisfied as well. Have my gripes as well…almost entirely software related…would seem that’s where FMC needs to invest some more money.

Satisfied enough that Zeus got dropped of at the Port today to make an ocean sailing to Hawaii where we’re moving.
Another satisfied customer, though not perfectly:
  • Keyless entry pad was disconnected at delivery (easy fix)
  • Front parking sensors not fitted, contradicting sticker (not sure about fixing that)
  • No known way but plastic film and tape to prevent nocturnal light show which interferes with astronomy
...but a great vehicle overall, almost as nice as my wife's 2021 Mach-E...a necessary condition for my being allowed to by it. :p

@DiveMan911, we're losing you from California? Hope you have a great time on the island(s). Are you moving before PG&E raises our rates to be higher than those in Hawaii? Or perhaps it's that although Hawaii waters are a desert compared to California's, there's enough visibility to actually see it?

I also do astronomy and astrophotography.

If you have an obd2 device and are willing to use forscan, you can enable "Silent Mode" which is a toggle on the Vehicle Settings Screen. It turns off all responses to walking up to the vehicle at a key, as well as not turning on any* lights when you open the door.

The IPC screen has a dim light, but otherwise everything is off.

Fantastic! I was unaware of that. Time to get more serious with ForScan! Many thanks.

65k km's on mine now with no major problems.
Minor problems have been:
1)Right rear wheel speed sensor wiring was damaged(replaced under warranty)
2)Window switch module replacement due to stuck down rear pax window(common f150 problem).
3)running board light had condensation in it. (running board replaced under warranty)

Did a big road trip this month and got to use my charging adapter, worked great. Tesla charging is way more expensive though.

Drove 700kms last weekend, one charging stop each way, cost was $40cad for DC fast charging at petrocan and about another $10cad for the overnight L2 charge at family's house, so total about $50. My gas truck would have cost $131cad in fuel at least. Had I used Tesla, the DC fast portion goes up to $75-85Cad.

Everyday I drive is just money in the bank.
I’ve found Tesla SC to be better priced for the most part than Ea and most other DCFC companies. Then if you get the the membership it’s even better. So I look for SC over others. When I plan a trip I look at all the chargers to find the best option and it usually is SC. Can you guys not get the Tesla membership pricing up there?

In the two years/33k miles I've owned mine it has been to the dealer to fix the axle ting and then once more to fix a drivers seat clunk in the bottom cushion, which was an apparent TSB for all F150s.

Both were quick no-nonsense repairs and the dealer was upfront and clear about anything that's popped up.

That is with the $17/month membership.

The pricing also varies by location AND by time of day.

Tesla is by far the most expensive of all the options.
Yes it varies down here as well. On my last trip from LA back to Michigan Tesla was always cheaper than any of the other options. Sometimes 10-15 cents per kWh cheaper. Our membership here is $12.99/month.

I suspect most peoples experience is similar, pleasantly impressed with vehicle, love the fuel savings, scratching head a few times.

Pet peeve gripes Ford has quietly fixed via updates (ie whens last time anyone had a 12v issue?). Some things they can still do better - physical preconditioning control?

Tesla charger access fixed the one major downside of the truck - charged 46 times in last two weeks at DC chargers between ND and FL - 44 of them were at Tesla stations. Not a problem at any of them.
I’m buying a Lightning within the next two weeks and will fly one way to get it…about 600 miles from my home near ATL. Questions: which adapter is best to use at Tesla charging stations? How do you pay for charging at Tesla charging stations…does it require I have the Tesla app on my iPhone? Do you own/use ABRP with a BLE OBD dongle…I am seeing a bit of this in the forum…I am NOT tech savvy at all…I need simple, easy, and intuitive for my 66 year old brain! Thanks for your input! Looking to purchase a ’24 Lariat Lightning in Sterling, Virginia.

If you have the ford provided adapter use that, it’s cheaper to use the Tesla app especially if you sign up for their charging membership. You can cancel it anytime. I’ve never used ABRP. I use Apple Maps when traveling. There are plenty of Tesla chargers so you should have a great charging experience. Good luck and safe travels from another senior citizen.

27k miles. Only maintenance is tire rotations and recently, new tires. It was, by far, the most expensive vehicle i ever purchased. And it’s also the first brand-new vehicle I purchased in 40 years of driving. So buying the Lighting felt like a really big deal for me. And I don’t regret it for a minute. I smile every day I drive it!

Depending on your purchase experience there is a possibility of receiving a Ford adapter to use Tesla chargers IF you buy the mobile charger. I would discuss with the purchasing dealer to make sure they have it in stock.

Personally I prefer the A2Z Tesla adapter. It is well made, the price is appropriate, and if you use the code FORDFORUM and bundle the Fast Charge adapter with the Level 2 adapter the price is even better.

You can pay for Tesla charging two ways. You can set up your Ford Network and at that time you can pay for the charger through the truck. If you enable Plug and Charge it will perform the payment automatically. Alternately, if you expect to use the Tesla chargers a lot you can buy the Tesla membership to get reduced rates. If you do so however you will need the Tesla app on your phone and you start the charger in the app BEFORE plugging it into your truck.

I strongly suggest using both the A Better Route Planner app, and the webpage. Just sit down and plan some routes that you might take, or even just random ones. ABRP good app, but there is a lot of info there and digging in takes some familiarity. My personal opinion is that the Ford Nav is unreliable, and that Apple and Google may need some updates your truck may not yet have and you should ensure they work before counting on them. As far as the OBD adapter for ABRP, I don't personally use it. I like to plan my route out ahead of time and IMO the adapter is better for on-the-fly planning.

Either Plug and Charge (Ford's pay as you go) or Tesla App - Tesla App being cheaper if you get membership. Have ABRP no dongle - was on to buy list however unless I road trip >1000 miles more of a hassle. The truck doesn't come with a Tesla adaptor, order one online now and have it for the trip back - A2Z is fine unless the dealer guarantees you one at pickup from Ford. They aren't free the dealer needs to order one and sell it to you for 2024s.
