I had just had a similar issue with PSEG. They just dropped support for my current JuiceBox Charger for the off peak credits. I ended up buying a charge point flex and recouped some of the cost by selling the juicebox
Exactly what I'm doing with my Grizzl-e and maybe even the FCSP. That discount is too good to pass up.

There’s no sense getting emotional about it.

Divide your MPK by your cost per kWh and add 10% for charging losses. The result is fuel cost per mile. For me, it’s $.06.

Do the same for the equivalent ICE. In my case my F150 got 18 MPG and gas averages about $3.20. That’s almost $.18.

So even though my electric bill went up, I’m happy about it.

For me, I pay .14 per kWh / 2.8 mpk (avg for daily commute) * 1.1 = 0.055 or about the same as Maquis. I drove a Subaru Legacy prior to this and averaged 32 mpg. I'm going to be generous and use $3 (we've been bouncing between $2.90 and $3.30) so 3 /32 = 0.094. So even in a bigger pickup, I'm still saving money. Just have to remind myself of that every time the bill comes due :)

I have 1-to-1 net metering solar, so I can charge whenever I want. It's been great.

how was the experience? You buy or lease? Backup power? Who's the solar company?
we used New England Solar+ Green in MA but they install in NY as well. Owner personally handled everything is a huge EV head (dailys a Rivian R1S). We initially looked at Tesla but they were impossible to work with awful customer service. They are CHEAP but it’s cheap for a reason.

Bought with Cash(put it all on Credit cards for multiple sign up bonuses) and got $20k in credit from the Feds and NYS. Total out of pocket was $10k for a 9.6kw system.

What’s an electric bill?

Not everyone has the space, I know. But a 5-7kW system is needed to cover the average annual mileage for our truck.
