This is the first time you've seen the dynamic SOC?
Awesome news for more of the builds that missed a previous push of that feature.
I've had a flood of updates over the last week and got 6.4.0 today, have Apple Maps info sharing for SOC and charger routing in Apple navigation and all that. I still don't have this dynamic SOC thing, unless I'm not seeing where it's hidden. I'll go poke around a bit more...

Some UI/UX feedback for @Ford Motor Company

Ford F-150 Lightning Power-Up OTA 6.8.0 - Smart Changes: Center Screen 1000019191

All this applies to the calm screen (which is not very calm):
  • Remove the gear selector display. I can tell, its a lever next to my knee if I ever get confused. Redundant
  • Temp. Redundant with the center screen. Don't replace it with a clock, that would be redundant too.
  • Speed limit moved to the middle (and that displays the wrong speed). Put it back in the corner and have it be accurate.
  • Mileage - dont care. Leave it on the non calm screen.

Thanks.

I agree with your feedback other than the range/SOC. My speed and my SOC are the two things I always care about at a glance.

I can do that. Where can I find the reset procedure?
As @bmwhitetx said, you can try it without resetting the BMS first and see if it sticks. Your battery capacity is being read as 23%. Usually, when it is that low, a BMS reset will help unless your battery really is that bad.

Didn't make any changes to range/soc, I think that's fine

For those luckiest 2023 builds to actually get an update (yes there is sarcasm in my post as all I get are reminders to re-up streaming) - what was your blend date - Are any people with blend/build dates in AUG/SEP of this year getting updates? Thank you in advance.

Purchased July of 2023 and have not seen a single OTA as of yet (not even a notification that one is available) despite checking automatically and manually on a daily basis. Have tried contacting the Ford OTA support team to no avail and also my local dealer who was able to push through a few critical updates manually, but did have any clue why the 'normal' process was not working.

At this point I am considering purchasing a Mongoose J2534 cable and getting a temporary FDRS license every couple of months. This is a very expensive and time intensive solution to something that should be coming over automatically. For those of you that have connected with Ford Engineering, how did you go about this?

I was really beginning to feel left out. I hadn't gotten anything in a really long time. Then 6.4 yesterday and 6.5 today. Mary Chapin Carpenter "I feel lucky!" playing in the background.

Probably a better song form her than "The Bug". Not as good an outcome. They were on the same album though.

99% of the time time, OTA's that require vehicle inhibition fail due to low battery SoC. I can confirm with your VIN, but I'm confident that's the reason.
How can you check this with a VIN?

and what is considered a low battery SOC?

My vehicle took 6.5.0 OTA with no issues on the 8th, but has now made 15 attempts of 6.8.0 with no success. What’s interesting compared to last OTA failures is that I have yet to receive a push notification on my phone about the failures for this OTA update. I start it, do the magic OTA dance in front of the truck - turn off lights, turn on parking break, lock doors, change my fordpass app to my other vehicle, but then wait to check it a few hours later in the vehicle to find it was “interrupted.” No alerts on my phone or in FordPass other than the notice that an install has been scheduled for my update time.

It sounds like I may have to get FDRS once BC 1.3 fully hits to just get this over the line. It’s so disappointing that this is still such a common problem for ford’s OTA system.

The updates are now in a separate section of the app, Vehicle, Features and Settings, Updates. No more messages, and typical Ford, no communication of that change.

If you’re referring to the 12V battery SoC, you can see it in your Ford account at Ford.com.
