And here I thought I was the only one that... distracted?

How 'bout they remove the silly gear shift knob and repurpose that effort into a remote charge port closer? :)
Funny, you mention the Gear shift lever/knob . . I STILL keep trying to "down shift" my lightning :rolleyes::ROFLMAO: . . force of habit.

Is this a right hand drive truck in Europe? If so there may be a lot more hardware swapped from left to right side than just the charge port. This charge port may still be on the "drivers" side of the car.

I guess the correct question to ask is do European Tesla's that are right hand drive have the charge port in the same location as US Tesla'?
Most of Europe drives on the same side as we do so I imagine the truck is the same as ours. Only the United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, and Malta drive on the left.

Idk, having replaced two ports on Teslas and one on the R1T, I appreciate the cheap manual door…if it wasn’t for the warning on the dash I would’ve probably replaced it a dozen times already though lol.

I wish they had charging ports on both sides. It's just a little bit more wiring but makes charging solutions more flexible. Also prevents one side of my truck getting cooked in the summer sign while the other side is in the shade
Why can’t EVs have multiple charging ports, such as one in opposite corners? Makes no sense to me. What is so sacred about a port? Imagine if houses had only one electrical outlet?
There’s more to it than just wiring. Provisions would need to be made such that when using one port, the pins on the unused one aren’t energized. Things are always more complicated than they seem at first glance.

Wouldn’t that be a simple matter of an interlock system, quite common in any safety device?

It's not moving to the back of the truck, because Ford has commercial customers that put toolboxes, etc on this truck chassis. Never happening. It may move to the front or passenger side, but it's never going to be part of the bed.

When you have a vehicle with surround view and actual parking sensors, you're not stuck putting it at the rear. 😜

Gaining access to the Superchargers and commitment to move to NACS I also predict Ford will move the charging port to the back drivers side. I'm kind of surprised they didn't make that move for the '24's, but I guess they will save it and do it all at once. If they don't for the Lightning I would expect it on the T3 for sure. It'll just make integration easier.

This will just leave those of us with this version of the truck to battle the charger situation.
They might move it, but likely to the passenger front fender. That makes way more sense on a truck then to the azz end when you might be towing or have large items like kayaks and such.

They really need to just start offering different charger configurations for towing and larger vehicles.

Going a little off topic here, 277V issue is something I never thought of. Alex has an interesting point here:

You just be rough on them!! 3 Teslas since 2018 and no door problems. I miss the automatic door.

6 for me since 2015, I’d like to say it’s because I have an extra 3 years but I’m pretty sure I broke the first one within a year…in all fairness the charge port door was redesigned after 2016….but I still broke the R1T within 6mo.

Ford doesn't make a right hand drive f150. The ones they send to Australia are modified by a 3rd party
