Hey Taxman. You always seem to have the right answer, so I'm coming directly to you. I've only had my Lightning about 6 weeks so a lot of this is still new to me. I have not ever received this OTA update. I am certain I have the truck set to accept the updates at 1am 7 days and have gotten one or two other updates, but not this one. Do they roll them out as slowly as this (A month or more)? Thx
There could be some new hope - for some reason many trucks have not received recent updates. Just this week though at least 2 people on a FB group reported getting the new UI (which is now months old.) So maybe Ford is trying to get a new push going to get all of the trucks caught up before they can maybe get the BC 1.3 stack rolled out.

You could also use FDRS to update your truck. Both @Mike G and I have been checking people's VINs to see if anything is there.

There are a couple of people renting out a Mongoose to make the updates (I think they are all on the ICE forums) so you don't have to lay that big cost to make the update.

Wondering if I could give someone my vin to check and see if something is going on I usually get updates pretty quick, but haven’t received any since the last priority update PU0306-BCF-DET. Thanks

There are two people that I know of on this forum that will check for people, but we only check to see if you have updates in FDRS... @Mike G and myself.

So when you check the system, it tells you if there’s any updates pending but obviously you don’t have the ability to push them through. But if there are updates pending, I can go to my dealership and have them install them if I don’t want to wait, I believe that’s how it works but I’m not sure

Basically...we can see if you have updates available and you can either get a two day subscription to FDRS and install them yourself or you can go to the dealership where they will tell you that they tried and either none were available or the updates failed. ;):ROFLMAO::sneaky:

OK great thank you for your info. Would you mind if I gave you my vin to check when you have some free time ? Yes sometimes the dealership can be tricky. My wife got a new Mach E and it was way out of date. It had sat on the lot for a while. They recommended just letting the over the air updates happen, and it’s been going strong one or two a week easily, but my Lightning seem to have stalled.

I probably will just wait until it downloads, but I am curious how one gets a subscription to FDRS.

Half of their problem is they shouldn't stop the frunk from closing just because you've taken the truck out of park. Finish the close regardless of Park or moving to drive. I've experienced it. Louder beeps is just annoying, don't be so short sighted to stop the close and have a need for a notification. You truly have to question the brain power behind these decisions.
The other problem with the frunk is that you cant easily manually close it. I have been in a situation before where the truck got into some glitch... I pressed the frunk close button on the outside, but it only closed 1/2 way, then I pressed it again, and it opened a little bit, then got stuck and would not move. I tried manually closing it and encountered a lot of resistance from the motor... so instead of risking damaging it, I was forced to go into the truck and turn it off, and back on, to reset everything and get it to work. Very annoying.

They should be taking a cue from the tailgate... yes power assist, but let us easily manually close it if we want. Sometimes waiting for the frunk to finish closing before I can walk away is an annoyance and I just want to close it and GTFO.

Can anyone confirm how loud the chimes are now?

A question about these over the air updates went to the dealer and they checked their system and said there’s no updates pending for my vehicle but wondering if I had a subscription and tried to update myself would there be an update if their system is showing no updates now this was the service advisor. The vehicle wasn’t actually plugged into anything they were just checking in their system. From what I have seen posted on this forum I am of these two behind. I still do not have SOC indicator on dash.

Boy that was one long first sentence hard to read maybe try commas next time so here's your answer. ;)
They can see if you have updates pending from just your VIN, no need to hook into the truck. Couple of folks on here will do that - start re-reading your posts starting at #139.

Ford does LOVE their chimes. I was thinking the other day I need to find that frunk speaker and either snip the wires or wrap it in a towel.

Sad realization that my 'grownup toy' is far more noisy than my kids toys that are designed to make noise.
It's really not that hard to get to, but you do need to remove the frunk tub to get to it. I put some gorilla glue in the speaker and it quieted down perfectly for a day or two, but then the glue cured more and mostly silenced it. Only my kids can hear it now. Not me.
