Can you expand on that? I don’t care how I connect to Tesla network as long as I have access to it. As it is for trips like Maryland to Ontario or Maine with my standard pack on CCS network, it is a bit of a crapshoot when I read the reviews on plugShare. When I look at the map if superchargers along my routs become available, I may be able to getaway with keeping the pro. As of now I am using the pro for local drives (less than 200 miles away) and use my wife’s ICE for longer trips.NACS will be irrelevant. They are following in the footsteps of Ford (adapter/full switch)
Ford and Rivian are both on the same timeline for switching to NACS and being able to use the Supercharger network in 2024. So it’s irrelevant as there’s no difference between the two trucks. Can you expand on that? I don’t care how I connect to Tesla network as long as I have access to it. If for some reason superchargers do not become available in 24 or it is too watered down, I may have to upgrade my pack (Silverado, Cybertruck, Rivian,…). What do you think about long distance travel with Pro in 24? Do you think I need a bigger pack regardless?
To do a 500 mile trip in 1 stop, you need to have a charger at almost the perfect right spot (especially in cold weather) and need to have charging at your destination. I do a ~450 mile trip (each way) with no L2 charging at my destination. It is 3 stops on the way down (2 along the way, and a final stop just before arriving to charge up for the week), and then 2 stops on the way home since I can charge at home. Just new good charger at the mid-point so I have to spread it out. Bladder thanks me anyways!Ford and Rivian are both on the same timeline for switching to NACS and being able to use the Supercharger network in 2024. As for longer trips, it depends on the type of trips you take. On a 500 mile trip, it’s 1 stop on my ER or the R1T. It’s 3-4 stops on the Pro. If it was just me, I’d choose the 1 stop. If my family is in the truck, I’d be stopping 3-4 times anyway. For anything shorter than 350-400 miles, it doesn’t make much of a difference on SR vs ER IMO.
That’s exactly right, I arrive at the charger with 4-12 miles remaining. If there’s traffic, I can make it to the next charger 20 miles away. And there’s a charger 20 miles before in case I’m running high on consumption. To do a 500 mile trip in 1 stop, you need to have a charger at almost the perfect right spot (especially in cold weather) and need to have charging at your destination. This update also fixed the range issue for me. Several updates ago, I noticed a significant reduction in range. My 1 stop 500 mile trip was taking 2-3 stops and I was struggling to get over 240-250 miles of range from full. With the most recent update I now can continue making 1 stop.I know we like to derail threads here, but this one might win the grand prize!
Well, I have an SR Pro and I was the first to post about the update (obviously not the first to get it). It seems available to all.Any SR peasants like myself get the update?
I must not of had my coffee when you posted this then since I completely overlooked who made the thread lol.Well, I have an SR Pro and I was the first to post about the update (obviously not the first to get it). It seems available to all.
As long as you have no FordPass issues, I wouldn't be too concerned. It will come!I must not of had my coffee when you posted this then since I completely overlooked who made the thread lol.
Weirdly still no updates on my end but no biggie.
Hey Taxman. You always seem to have the right answer, so I'm coming directly to you. I've only had my Lightning about 6 weeks so a lot of this is still new to me. I have not ever received this OTA update. I am certain I have the truck set to accept the updates at 1am 7 days and have gotten one or two other updates, but not this one. Do they roll them out as slowly as this (A month or more)? ThxWhat an easter egg, didn't even mention it in the release notes!
Yup, they come whenever FORD thinks it's time for your truck to get them, a lot of variables influence the speed at which any one truck receives these updates, just be patient and don't worry.I am certain I have the truck set to accept the updates at 1am 7 days and have gotten one or two other updates, but not this one.
