Hi All,

I could use your input to help deciding between these 3 options. I have to say I'm attracted to the Pro because I prefer knobs over a touch screen for heating/cooling, etc. I will tow building materials over one season but then would probably not have much of a need for towing over the long term. The main features I need are the ER battery and Pro power. Not sure if I'd benefit from having a dual on board charger, but is that nicer to have than the options in number 2 below? Are the prices listed good or should I try to negotiate more? The prices include taxes and fees and take into consideration any rebates, discounts and the EV tax credit.

1. Fleet 2024 Pro ER for $58k out the door
  • Dual on board charger
  • pro power onboard 9.6 kw
  • Max trailer tow package
2. Fleet 2024 Pro ER for $59k out the door
  • Single charger
  • Tow Technology package
  • Pro power onboard 9.6 kw
  • Max Trailer tow package
  • mobile power cord
  • backup alarm system
3. 2024 Flash with pro power 9.6kW for $60k out the door.

Looks like you're getting more truck for the money with option 1. The flash is only a single charger and Pro-Power is an option.

I'd go for option 1 IMHO.

Thanks for the input. Think thereā€™s a chance I could talk them down even more? Or does the $58k out the door price seem good?

If you have room in your panel for it, the dual charger is very nice.

Do you value niceties? The Flash has carpet and cloth seats if I'm not mistaken, which means it will be quieter and more comfortable.

I get that a lot of people like buttons and knobs. I find them to be overrated considering the Lightning has automatically climate control. Cold? Turn the temperature up. Warm? Turn the temperature down; same as my house. The 15" screen with a full map increases situational awareness significantly. It's worth it, in my opinion.

The flash is a significant upgrade. Power seats. Automatic cruise. Much higher resale value

I would definitely go Flash if it's the same price (if it has 9.6kW Pro Power). The driver's seat comfort, alone, going from the Pro to the XLT has been worth it.

Only thing you're giving up is dual on board chargers, most people don't charge at 80a and 48a at home charging is more than adequate for 95% of owners.

I think the idea of Fleet ER Pro's for consumers is neat and an awesome idea, they just don't price them competively compared to what you can get in a Flash at a similar price.

I responded earlier, but I'm changing my opinion.

If you can get a Flash for the same price as an ER Pro, you have to go with the Flash. As much as I dislike the 15" screen, the standard equipment on the Flash is over the top a better value, even taking into consideration the dual chargers on the Pro.

I went from a Mach-e to a Pro outfitted like option 1.

I miss the heated steering wheel and the automatic (traffic sensing) cruise control from the Mach-e. Both of those are available on the Flash.

I like the smaller screen and knobs better in the Pro. The Mach-e had the big screen and that was my one dislike on the interior.

If I could have found a Flash with the max-tow for a decent price, I would have gone with that. I did get a decent deal on the Pro and it had my two "must haves" of the ER and max-tow.

You won't go wrong with either, just need to figure out your "must haves" and "nice to haves" and factor in the money if there's any difference.

The Flash for similar price is better deal, I'm one that does not like the large screen as it became a problem in my Mach-e after 27k miles and dealership never fixed it. I went 23 XLT ER because of this experience. The pro er needs to come down at least $5k to be a better deal. The duel charger might be worth it on rare occasions, but you will have to get a high level charger and more expensive install at your house. On those long day trips, just charge to 100% and watch speed and you should be fine.

I donā€™t get the want or need for Dual on board chargers. I got it. Itā€™s nice to be able to charge at 19 kW but letā€™s be real. How many times do you really need 19 kW charging ? I can see fleet. They wanna get charged up as fast as they can with a cheaper power from home or a business but for every day Joe Schmoeā€™s the 10 kW is just fine to charge your battery overnight to 100% from 15% and most charge to 80/90% anywaysšŸ˜‚. I know Ford got rid of it to save money one and the data showed that a minuscule percentage was using the dual on board charger. Iā€™d get the flash but honestly go lariat or better IMO

I'm in the camp where

1. Flash
2. Pro with tow tech
3. The other pro.

For the price difference the flash has a LOT of added features. Power seats and lane centering come to mind first for me.

As for the pros, the one with tow tech is much better fitted out.

The first pro is only and advantage if you very frequently drive large distances back to back, and have a narrow charging window. To get that benefit you need a $1500 charger and a much more expensive install.
