An extremely happy owner of 2021 Job1 MME and a 2022 Lightning. Still own a 2017 convertible Mustang.
I traded my Explorer for the Lightning. The MME was my first EV. First adaptor and I was constantly nagged about what terrible things could happen to me driving an EV. Family , friends and the dealer which I ordered it to be delivered looked at me that something was wrong with my mental reasoning. My reasons were plenty. Wars in the Middle East, crude oil going to $100, hurricane season in the Gulf of Mexico, pipeline explosions and other fuel shortages due to geopolitical tensions.
No more. Both my EVs cost me $40 - $60 a month on a regular usage.
Now after 3 1/2 years the questions pour in, and I answer all of them. As long as are genuine questions, I answer them as best I can. The limitations are that most of the people don’t like or best resist change until it is inevitable. Some resist the change all the way to their graves.
I am staying with my EVs.

I purchased my Lightning for mainly economic reasons as I was driving a 2016 expedition EL that was averaging about 16 miles to the gallon. I am saving at least $2500 to $3000/year or more depending on how you calculate the cost of solar power. I am using 20 years for my calculations but the system should last 30 to 40 years and is under warranty for 25 so I am being very conservative.
Since I have been driving it daily I do not see any reason to go back to ICE. I absolutely love driving my Lightning!

Over the last 20 years I have progressed through hybrid, plug-in hybrid and to full EV.

Just bought a second EV, the Ford F150 Lightning! Both the wife and I agree, no more ICE cars.

They‘re like going back into the Stone Age……noise, vibration, heat, rev-ing, shifting, drive train slack, brake dust, oil changes, tune ups And gas pumps. NO Thanks!

Our F150 Lightning is a delight. Driven conservatively it delivers the range and efficiency thats advertised and is better than I expected. I know how to exploit what these cars are capable of. And it’s quite fun rewarding to drive them.
We just switched and added a leaf and are 100% electric. Totally agree. Not going back.

We have the leaf but, I would have preferred a MME but the other liked the leaf….either way electric.

Never going back on the pickup, but still have a couple of other ICE vehicles that don't have good EV alternatives.

Looking to replace our Ford Explorer (which has been the perfect family vehicle). We drove a Rivian R1S which was nice, but my wife hated one pedal mode driving.

And still looking to replace the Corvette soft top. Need an electric convertible sports car with a trunk that can hold golf clubs that costs under $100k (and is not a Tesla).
Don't need 2 sec 0-60. Just need open air driving in something a little sporty.
My wife had issues with one petal, but soon got over it.

If you want a three row BEV SUV, you might want to consider the Volvo EX90. The base version is very well equipped and comfortable.

My wife had issues with one petal, but soon got over it.
Same here. It's my wife's Lightning, but when I drove, I would turn 1PD on and switch it off when I was done.

Then one day, about 3-4 months after we got the Lightning, I got in and it already had 1PD on, and hasn't been off since.

Another aspect of taking a pass on the R1S is that we realized we don't really need a 3 row SUV anymore. Now that our kids are grown, we won't be shuttling them and their friends and teammates around.

Will check out the Volvo.
The Explorer has been our road trip vehicle, so in replacing it with an EV, we will definitely want Tesla charging capability. Volvo is claiming NACS capability, so would want to confirm that is activated at Tesla chargers before buying.

Volvo is activated and the 25 EX90, EX40 and EC40 are all supposed to come with the adaptors.

our kids are all grown, but one has generously given us 3 grand kids, so the third row will help from time to time.

I am switching out of my V90 wagon in order to get the EX90.

Both my Wife and I went EV recently. I have a 24 Lightning Flash and Wife 24 Mach E AWD Select. I do not see a situation that would make us go back to an ICE vehicle.

Did you look at the EV9 as an Explorer replacement?

No, I will always buy a Ford as long as its possible. I am pretty good with Fords so I am very comfortable with owning one. Also a Three row for us is not needed any longer. We rarely used the third row of the Explorer.
