You’re not supercharging a Cybertruck with the tailgate down, because you have to back up all the way to the supercharger for the cable to reach. The charging task is made even more difficult as Tesla doesn’t use parking sensors and lacks a 360 surround view.

The inability to charge with the tailgate down dramatically reduces the utility of the Cybertruck as a “truck”.

Short video shows how this really isn't going to work...

It is going to be a tight fit. Hope the CT has a trailer hitch cam like the Ford Lightning. We are going to need it when backing in.

My guess, people are going to be smacking into some of the bollards and chargers when their talent runs out.

Not only did they have to back up until they almost hit the charger, they had to crowd to one side of the parking spot.

No 360-degree camera and no parking sensors? Those would be deal-breakers for me. My Lariat's 360-degree camera and sensors have been critical to learning how to maneuver the big beast in and out of tight spaces.

I use mine all the time to make sure I'm within the lines when I park

Yep. They had to thread the hitch to make it work.

Bold assuming there's much talent to start with. I'd be hard-pressed to find half of CT owners have ever driven a vehicle this large in their lives, nevermind one with the rear visibiltiy of a Countach.

I do love all the camera views on the Ford Lightning.

The front bumper camera view really comes in handy pulling up forward to the bollards when charging, and the rear view, as well as the trailer hitch camera, are super handy when backing up.

Agreed. I first learned to appreciate the 360 surround view when charging my Taycan. With some chargers, you really have to nudge up. I will never buy another EV without it.

Gotta believe the supercharge adaptor will have a long extension cable to get us close enough to charge. Shortly after purchase I took my Lightning to a supercharger and there is no way we can make any simple clip on block adapter work. Some type of connector with a cable will be required. Doubt Tesla will retrofit longer cable on the entire existing charger network.

Obviously our Lightning charge port location was not well thought out. Aesthetically pleasing but should have been much closer to a corner or the center of the front or rear bumper.

Rear bumper is dumb for a truck (See Cybertruck).
Those high kw DC charging cables are liquid cooled. That extension cable would have to be very short and/or provide its own cooling.

Front bumper might be even dumber. You could lose the capability to charge after an otherwise very minor collision. I’ve lost count of how many deer I’ve hit in my lifetime! Only once did it disable the car - busted radiator.
