I’m thinking of swapping my 9,000 mile 2023 Lariat ER for a 2024 Platinum Lightning due to great lease deals this month.

The primary reason is Massaging seats that we have in our F-450 Platinum which the wife loves.

i would loose Blue Cruise after 90 days

I would also loose 20 miles of range.

What are your thoughts about this swap?

If you have the $$ to play with, and you don't mind a certain chunk of cash (at these scales, maybe upwards of 20-30k) being wiped off of your books due to the swap, I'd go for it. My wife on the other hand would not :D

I definitely wouldn’t. To me the swap would only be for the seats, the interior is a wash, and the wheels/tires are honestly a detriment for me and I’d want smaller ones.

Platinum owner chiming in...

Do it.. You won't regret it, sure you take a 20 mile hit on the range but you already know that going in. You also already know price difference and can afford it, so why not? Lastly, happy wife......

Get the truck and enjoy it..

If you have the cash to waste, I say why not.

But I think you're nuts.

Agreed, I'm nuts BUT I am also 78 years old and can afford it.

It's just less money that I will leave to my daughter and Son In Law when i pass.

If you won't blink at the expense, go for it. All of my passengers love the massage-ventilated seats and my business partner who has a Lariat was impressed by the Platinum interior.

I ended up swapping out the 22" for 18" winters and will do the same for my summer set.

Other that during Covid when prices were all over the place you never make money on a vehicle.

I estimate I'll take a $10k hit on the 2023 since I bought it right.

Congrats on putting yourself in a great financial position in retirement! You've worked hard your whole life and deserve it. I say go for it! 👍

76YO ‘24 Platinum owner here and I’d say, Go For It! A bit o massage along the way helps me jump out of the seat ready to GO. Plus the leather is a level above the Lariat. Thankfully the $$ is not a major issue for you so what the heck. Enjoy it!
