I don't remember you being there when I ordered the truck......
I was monitoring your internet usage via the spyware I installed on your PC when you went to that site you shouldn't go to. ;)

With a post Dec 31st delivery, it would most likely be in the red. I was just hoping that somehow it would go ordered to delivery in less time.
Yah wishful thinking!

My Lightning took 6 weeks from build to delivery and that was fast in July.

My wife's MME is scheduled for build next week too but does not look like it will be delivered until early 2023 (late January) according to the Ford rep.

What really burns me is that the IRA passed messing up the full tax credit on the incoming MME.
If the IRA didn't pass/signed then the old rules apply which would have resulted in full tax credit for Q1 2023 delivery.

I submitted a day one reservation for a Lariat Extended Range Lightning which goes into production next week. I was hoping to get this prior to getting my Rivian, but this didn't happen. If by some miracle I take delivery by Dec 31st, I can claim the tax credit and possibly sell it while not losing money. After the 31st, it would most likely result in a loss. If I refuse delivery, do I lose the deposit? Thoughts?
Ask your dealer. My contract said the deposit was not refundable. But an order abandonment would’ve let them sell it at a markup so they would’ve gladly gave me my deposit and more point in time.

The other question is if you really like your Rivian and if there’s shortcomings, what are they? I like my F-150L Pro more than I like my Rivian R1T, something I didn’t anticipate nor realize until I took delivery of both. There have been others who are the other way around depending on your wants and needs.

That's not right. Ford hit 200,000 in Q3. That means in Q3 and Q4 you get the full tax credit, and 50% tax credit in Q1 and Q2 2024, and 25% in Q3 and Q4, under the old, now-obsolete, rules.

Qualified Plug-In Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit (IRC 30D) Phase Out
The qualified plug-in electric drive motor vehicle credit phases out for a manufacturer’s vehicles over the one-year period beginning with the second calendar quarter after the calendar quarter in which at least 200,000 qualifying vehicles manufactured by that manufacturer have been sold for use in the United States [ comment - this means starting Q1 2024 ] (determined on a cumulative basis for sales after December 31, 2009) (“phase-out period”). Qualifying vehicles manufactured by that manufacturer are eligible for 50 percent of the credit if acquired in the first two quarters of the phase-out period and 25 percent of the credit if acquired in the third or fourth quarter of the phase-out period. Vehicles manufactured by that manufacturer are not eligible for a credit if acquired after the phase-out period.

I backed out recently from lariat after getting the build date.

I talked to dealer and they gave me a form saying I am releasing waiver on the truck and they sent me a check in a week. $1100(100 reservation and 1000 deposit). In a way, they felt happy and I see they already listed the truck with over 25k markup.

So yes take to your dealer and most likely they will refund in a week.

How are we supposed to know what the dealer's specific policy on refunds is? I don't recall reading anything when the website prompted me that there was a deposit. Everything I read said all deposits were refundable. Nothing dealer specific ever popped up anywhere in the process.
Usually governed by state law. In my state they have to refund.

Q1 2023 would have only been half credit under the old rules. Ford hit 200k sales in Q3 of this year.

Ah, forgot Ford hit 200K in Q3 - thought it was going to be Q4...

Oh well, under the new rules at least I get half credit because the batteries are not sourced from a friendly country...

$3750 is better than nothing....

I have Platinum that will be coming soon as was built this past week 11/21 and think I'm either going to try to get something from the dealer for not taking it or buying and reselling. I went with the 92K or now 98K Platinum because I wanted all the bells and whistles but losing alot with all the deletes and only getting a $1050 credit is not sitting well with me. Thats why this week just bought a 2022 Limited that was built 3/22 and has no deletes and is almost 30K less. I was really looking forward to the truck but don't want to just settle for less after paying all the money. Think I'm going to wait a few years when hope all options are back, range is longer and sure there will be bugs to be worked out. Anyone want a 2023 Antimatter Blue Platinum I know where there will be one available

I was early $83 k loade lariat er with tow and bedliner. Paid MSRP.. If I didn’t make first cut I woul not buy. These are probably not $80k truck but definitely not 90, 100 or 110.

Don’t get Me wrong they are great but the ecomics now with initial pricing don’t make sense.20-30k can but slot a gas.
