Yah wishful thinking! With a post Dec 31st delivery, it would most likely be in the red. I was just hoping that somehow it would go ordered to delivery in less time.
Ask your dealer. My contract said the deposit was not refundable. But an order abandonment would’ve let them sell it at a markup so they would’ve gladly gave me my deposit and more point in time.I submitted a day one reservation for a Lariat Extended Range Lightning which goes into production next week. I was hoping to get this prior to getting my Rivian, but this didn't happen. If by some miracle I take delivery by Dec 31st, I can claim the tax credit and possibly sell it while not losing money. After the 31st, it would most likely result in a loss. If I refuse delivery, do I lose the deposit? Thoughts?
That's not right. Ford hit 200,000 in Q3. That means in Q3 and Q4 you get the full tax credit, and 50% tax credit in Q1 and Q2 2024, and 25% in Q3 and Q4, under the old, now-obsolete, rules. What really burns me is that the IRA passed messing up the full tax credit on the incoming MME.
If the IRA didn't pass/signed then the old rules apply which would have resulted in full tax credit for Q1 2023 delivery.
Usually governed by state law. In my state they have to refund. How
How are we supposed to know what the dealer's specific policy on refunds is? I don't recall reading anything when the website prompted me that there was a deposit. Everything I read said all deposits were refundable. Nothing dealer specific ever popped up anywhere in the process.
Q1 2023 would have only been half credit under the old rules. Ford hit 200k sales in Q3 of this year.Yah wishful thinking!
My Lightning took 6 weeks from build to delivery and that was fast in July.
My wife's MME is scheduled for build next week too but does not look like it will be delivered until early 2023 (late January) according to the Ford rep.

Ah, forgot Ford hit 200K in Q3 - thought it was going to be Q4...Q1 2023 would have only been half credit under the old rules. Ford hit 200k sales in Q3 of this year.
I was early $83 k loade lariat er with tow and bedliner. Paid MSRP.. If I didn’t make first cut I woul not buy. These are probably not $80k truck but definitely not 90, 100 or 110.
Don’t get Me wrong they are great but the ecomics now with initial pricing don’t make sense.20-30k can but slot a gas.
