Anybody ever notice their Charge Station Pro gets a yellow light?

For about an hour after installation, we were charging with no issues.

Then suddenly I noticed on my Sense I had these spikes of no charging/charging.

Every 3 minutes or so it would go from a blue color on the charge station, I hear a click (like a relay) and it goes yellow. Then after about 30 seconds it'll click and go back to blue and continue charging.

It keeps doing this, not sure why.

We have it set to 80amps

Mine did that once. I reset my panel breaker and it hasn't done it since.

Il'll try that. I know it's a "smart" style device so maybe it's just being stupid. I read a lot of others had the same issue on another forum, but nobody posted a "fix"

That didn't wrok. It cycled again.

I dropped it down from 80amps to 64amps with the dip switch. Just cycled it so we'll see if that helps at all.

Does the display or app tell you what your voltage is? If so, are you getting voltage droop?

Not really that im aware of. Im monitoring it with a Sense home monitoring system so I can see it dropping off, which is why i noticed an issue and then saw it going from blue to amber and then back, which is a common issue it seems.

So far 5 minutes in and she's not dropped off since changing it from 80amps to 64amps. And my charging time only extended by like 20 minutes too.

Earlier it would drop every minute.

Thena gain, we had an hour of no issues as well.

I dunno if maybe the unit is overheating? It IS warm out today and right now. Perhaps lowering it to 64amps is letting it run a BIT cooler then at 80amps and therefore it's not going into a possible overload protection status?? That's my only thoughts.

What size wire is the Pro Charger hooked up to?

When charging my Model S at my father's house, he had a 14-50 in his detached garage. I plugged in to charge and noticed that a few minutes later my charge rate was nerfed from 40 to 30 amps. I was able to monitor and log the voltage for the session, and I saw the voltage start at 230v and drop to 223v before the car cut the charging rate to 30A. It stayed at 30A for the remainder of the session with the voltage right around 230v. My guess is that the wiring to the circuit was marginal and not really sized properly for the sustained load.

Anyway, it's possible that the CSP is sensing the voltage drop and is killing the charge outright vs. lowering it during the charge cycle. I think my car was actually reducing the desired current vs. the mobile connector. The EVSE may not have the ability to "do it live." If you are able to continue charging at a reduced rate, this may be the cause. Or it could just be some fault/defect in the CSP itself.

I have had the same problem. Running on setting 7 from a 100 amp circuit breaker. It cycles from flashing blue for 4-5 minutes to solid amber for a about a minute then repeats. Also I was not able to like it to Ford Pass because all I had on the display is a label with Charge Station ID, MAC Address and Access Code. Tried using access code as password but that did nothing. Spent 3 hours going from 6 different 800 numbers with Ford before a nice lady suggested I call Sunrun as the Ford support for the charger is nil. Sunrun promised to contact Ford and get back to me in about 5 days. That was last Friday. Will let you know what happens. Were you able to like charger to Ford Pass?

Possible loose wire connections causing heat and expansion.
Also, check ground if that is solid.

We're using the proper size wires. I changed it to 64amps and so far we're almost 3 hours in and it has not dropped out at all since switching it to 64amps.

I'll leave it at 64amps and when the weather gets cooler, re-try 80amps if it's a weather thing OR maybe it's a Ford bug with the software in the truck.

OMG…this sounds eerily like the problems with the Ford Mobile Charger. It *thinks* it’s overheating, throttles back the charging rate, and displays an amber light.

I know this is unrelated. Sense is a great system! Glad to see someone else using it.

I was going to ask if you got your charger yet but I see you did. Our trucks were delivered together and so far I have got nothing about my charger.

I disagree... sort of. I think it's great to monitor overall use but it's terrible at identifying circuits.

I'd like to be able to turn a circuit on/off/on/off so it sees is and label it. I've got 75% of my house under OTHER still and i've had it about 4 months now
