Charge port on both sides. Not sure if any EV offers this or practicality or cost to have both. But would be a cool feature/option to have on the bigger truck design that might need to be utilized based on parking and charger connection set up
I don't remember the specifics of the article I read on this, but it apparently was not practical to add a charge port on both sides. It was added costs and I believe a problem with the battery with putting chargers on both sides.

yeah figured it wasn’t practical or as functional as the reason it hasn’t been done. Figured if it was just a cost then it could be added as an option/add on. Maybe future years.

Also, I see complaints about having a shifter. I prefer it over the stalk in my MYP. I hate stalks (unless it’s a column shift 🤣), knobs or buttons for transmission (ok, I know it’s not, but can we just call it that). I also realize that this is just my preference.
It's fake and it feels fake. If they're going to have it, at least go with something that feels real! And if they got rid of it, it'd be easier to know which drink in the cupholder is mine/passenger's (change cupholder orientation to horizontal).

I don't disagree with the shifter being cheap - just a mess.

However our cupholder rule is that the drivers cup goes closest to the console, a bit easier to reach. So end that issue. Make a new rule.

Yeah, I wasn't overly thrilled with how loose and wiggly it felt when I took my test drive. Not nearly as nice as on my '17 Raptor. Still like it better than the dial in the Mach-e though.

Would love me an old school column shifter (not a stalk, a real shifter).

Anarchy! Closer to windshield is the driver's :p!
I'm with @GDN on this one 😂. To be honest, no one but me is allowed to have food or drink in the vehicle so they don't need a cup holder 🤣

I think I read the same article... reportedly, they want to create a security subscription offering so they can charge you per-month for having the service.

I planned to buy an aftermarket, shorter antenna for this same reason. Driving into and out of my garage, "thud-ud-ud-ud-ud" each time.
Well Tesla charges monthly fee for Sentry so there's precedence there. Also I did not know we were paying for it until my wife informed me. Shows how much I pay attention to the Tesla bill.

I actually bought stubby antenna before I took delivery since I had the issues on my 2011. The Lightning antenna just clears garage so I left it.

How much is the Tesla monthly charge for sentry mode? I would think that if Ford plans to do this, they would likely match it or try to come under it a bit.

There is no monthly fee for sentry. If you don't have lifetime connectivity for your car there is a $10 monthly fee (this is the only monthly fee I'm aware of for a Tesla), but that doesn't really support sentry as those videos only record locally on a USB drive. The outside connectivity gives you traffic on navigation, slacker radio and a few things like that.

Tesla is the one that so far continues to innovate and make all new features available to every car that has the hardware that will support it.

The mechanized "hidden" charge port is the one hardware feature that puts my Y above others. Compared to my other 2 plug-ins, it's so convenient as @Nate977p noted.

Reading this thread makes it apparent that Ford is behind in many things but getting an EV truck quick to market was probably their primary concern. I'm sure a few years down the line, we will see vast improvements... Tesla has just had so much more time to evolve but even with all that experience they have missteps (like the v11 upgrade... so bad).

I actually do not want frequent software updates for the vehicle. I loathe the way Tesla constantly changes things, adding eye candy and chrome teasing for their joke of a "full self driving" suite while basic vehicle functionality often regresses with these updates.

I hope Ford never starts constantly updating the vehicle like Tesla does though I would like to see a conservative use of over the air updates to fix actual bugs, and of course there are some of those.

But I do need an app that works. Really. The Ford app is simply not useful. They should replace it. Sure, they should fix the limitations in charging control in the onboard car UI too but if they would fix the app it would buy them plenty of time to fix the car UI which, as largely model-specific software running on an abandoned OS, is likely quite a bear to maintain.

I'd love updates that have new features that add value to the system. But all The updates i've had from Ford have done nothing more than limit features. For example, my Lincoln got an update last month. All it did was disable a bunch of simple features that i was able to use while driving before. Ugh.

Here are a couple that haven't been suggested yet:

- When using navigation, always show the estimated battery percentage at destination. This helps gauge if you need to stop earlier or skip a stop. I think ABRP will do this for you via Android Auto and a BLE OBD2 dongle, but the in truck navigation is actually pretty good and doesn't require a phone connection

- Let me leave the truck in sport mode without asking me if I want to stay in sport mode every time I get in the truck.

- Embed a streaming service app in the truck's infotainment so the Ford Streaming service is useful for more than just streaming via the Alexa service with voice commands. Currently the Ford Streaming service is of little value without a GUI, but I'd pay for it if there were a reliable Spotify app. (edit: you do get a display when streaming via Alexa/Ford Streaming with some basic controls, but no browsing of your music libraries).

For those who have never seen Tesla's app - here is what the clear and concise experience looks like:
