If the update is locking you out of driving (not all do), then it is updating something with the powertrain or HVB control modules.
Thanks, it went smoothly at 0301 am, truck was ready to go on this mornings coffee run.
It does seem the 1PD is slightly less aggressive, tweaking lift & deceleration & approach strategy .
Personal settings were intact.

Some updates erase the Home location (and any other saved locations). Plug in for 5 minutes, unplug, then set your home location again and redo the settings.

I’m hoping they will create an update log on their website explaining the changes. Right now we are all getting updates at different times. This is me purely speculating, but it seems like “major” updates get a brief explanation (dual phones, etc) and the general “bug fix” updates are more vague.
The Mach-E has been out for over 1.5 years. There is no website explaining changes, vehicles get updates at different times to this day, and notes in updates have no pattern - and are rarely even close to clear and thorough.

Welcome to Wonderland, Alice. ;)

Well…you sure know how to kill a fella’s hope! Car companies have no idea how to be software companies.

I am now HOPEFUL that ford will visit the webpages to see how Microsoft, Apple, and Google show the update log to better inform us.

Exactly what I have experienced. I updated in the middle of my drive back home from work at a stop and could tell there was something different. It’s almost as if you have to fully let off now vs modulating. Hard to explain.

Hmm... not sure how I feel about that. I like modulating and strong regen

I agree, it feels much smoother to me than it was before, but it’s hard to say exactly how it is different. I also noticed very low speed maneuvering is smoother as well.

Got this as well but haven't noticed anything.

Mine made some pretty "different" sounds as it was updating. In particular it made a modulating sound that appeared to come out from the back of the truck but not sure what is really back there but the back-up speaker that could have done that (and the motor).

Sounds during the update were the most interesting thing about it to me lol.

NOTE, I blended another thread into this one as both are about the 3.4 update.

I did this update on Monday at about 5pm. Then plugged in at about 7pm well after the update had completed. My truck ignored the preferred charge max of 80% and charged all the way to 100%. I am hoping it was just a fluke. I called Ford and they had me delete my charge location and setup a new one. Wont know if that worked until tomorrow morning.
Mine is doing the same thing. I was going to try to reload my location to see if that would fix it, however it said that there were no charges yet at that location? I am charging it now and I am going to try it again tomorrow morning. Apparently, something is going on here.

Anyone else noticed the Nav "quick tile" in the row of recent apps/screens is no longer there by default? Every time I get in now rather than just being able to tap one of the quick tiles I have to go up to the Apps button, then Nav, then it shows up as a recent/quick tile.

I guess it's only one extra tap, but still, seems like it should be a fixed/default quick access tile...

We are getting updates at different times based upon the update schedule in Sync 4. For instance, I have a notice that says that I will receive my notice over the weekend at 3:00 AM since I have scheduled my updates for either Saturday or Sunday mornings.

Ford could take a page from the Volvo playbook. Volvo provides an explanation for its software update releases. Of course you have to go to the dealer and pay, unless covered by warranty.

Below is an example from the Volvo website for my 2018 V90:

Updates from June 2022
  • Improved support for map apps Wikilocation, Weather, LocalSearch and Yelp.
  • Bugfixes for TuneIn.
  • Drivetrain optimisation adjustments.
Updates from May 2022
  • Tyre pressure monitoring system adjustments. The system may display a stored pressure-message after the update.
  • Brake system diagnostics bugfixes and adjustments.
  • Drivetrain optimisation adjustments.
Updates from March 2022
  • Software adaptions to continue support for certain connected services, including VoIP-based services, which use a 2G/3G/4G network connection. Applies to US and EU markets.
  • Drivetrain optimisation adjustments.

Same here. Very annoying.
