I've read through this topic a couple of times, but how does someone get the phone as a key setup started. I have the update installed on the truck, but neither the truck nor the app show that I can set it up. Do I delete the vehicle from my ford pass app and reinstall and remove the phone from my truck and re add? I'm sure I'm over looking something super simple, but I'm just not seeing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DO NOT delete the truck/vin from your Ford Pass account, though you can do this, it's just a PIA to input again and rebuild your preferences.

Possibly uninstalling the app and from your phone, then later re-install and connect to Ford Pass might resolve, but if it does not, look for issues related to the phones settings, is it up to par, supported version, are all functions like NFC, Blue Tooth and Wifi operating correctly and no neutered settings in them?

Same here. Can't figure it out. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but got nothing. Chatting with Fordpass now.

Same here. Can't figure it out. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but got nothing. Chatting with Fordpass now.
Please do! Still nothing on my side (and the Backup Start Passcode someone suggested is greyed out).

FYI: Samsung Fold 4 and truck updated 2 days ago. Already uninstalled and reinstalled app (not showing on Wife's iPhone either).

Well, that was not a successful exercise! Chatting didn't really get me anywhere, but one suggestion was to go into the Settings section on the Sync screen, then General, then Reset, then FordPass Connect Reset, then Phone As A Key Reset. But I got a Fail message.

So Chat gave me a phone number for In Vehicle something or another and tried to connect me but that didn't work. I called that number (800-392-3673). The agent there couldn't help, so she gave me the FordPass phone number (800-883-2966) and successfully connected me to them. The agent there researched a few things (app version, what phone, phone software version, etc.) but stopped short of a Master Reset because it would affect too many things such as Connected Services.

So she wrote up an Expiteded (?) Ticket and gave me a case number. That ticket gets forwarded to the engineers who will try to figure it out and they will get back to me in 3-5 days.

I would give the Sync method a try first, then call the FordPass number if that doesn't work. I'll let you know what happens when I hear back from them.


Update:

:ROFLMAO: 2 minutes after I typed up the above, Set up Phone As A Key popped up on the app! It took less than 2 minutes to get everything set up, and it works!

The agent that I talked to at FordPass said that I might see something before I heard from them!

For people that it "just worked" after the update did something show up on the fordpass app or was it in the truck?
My notification (greyed out when driving) was the little bell and download symbol at the upper left (top) of/on my 4a screen. I waited until I got home, tapped it, and completed the install/setup…….

And just got a notice on the screen for another update but that I will not be able to drive the vehicle while it’s updating….. it’s happening 😳

I also did not have PAAK after the update.

I logged out of the app and then back in ….. it’s there now.
