I'm not convinced chip hold is a big deal and at this point seems like a normal part of the process. Many of us in the 10/17 had chip holds, but were still built in 8-10 days, which has been the normal time to be built from going into production for over two months now. Based on a blend date of 10/27/2022, I would expect you to go into a built status any day now.I'm sure that Ford has a logistical nightmare on its hands, but my experience with the Bronco and my experience with the Lightning so far makes me think Ford is really pretty bad at this stuff.
Why tell me my vehicle is in production and scheduled for production on 10/24 and then a blend date 10/27, but now I'm just stuck on a chip hold and in production? And nobody can tell me if I can take delivery before the end of the year (which would get me the tax credit of $7500 that I'll lose if I take delivery later).
What do you guys think? Why would Ford give estimated production dates if they can't accurately forecast when the truck will be ready to ship? Why not just wait to provide estimates until after the chips are in?
