Yup, i set it to 50% and i set a charging window of 10-11am. So, theoretically, it should only charge from 10-11am if the truck is under 50%. This is the $80k EV experience! ![Big grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

Good point. I should have known to avoid logic at all costs.First, you're applying logic. Big mistake.
Second, the manual tells you how to setup a home location to charge as you wish it to. Don't do that, and it doesn't work the way you expect.
Finally, who said anything about midnight? It's most likely a non-specific time during the early morning hours. Again, stop applying logic.![]()
You can get comfort and convenience without having it plugged in. In fact, there are less issues with cabin comfort if you DON"T have it plugged in. (Heated steering wheel issues). If your commute isn't long, and your electricity rates are high, it might not be worth it to precondition anyway. Is the slight increase in range worth the cost that preconditioning comes with? Unless it's more about the comfort and convenience, in which case I'll shut up.

So you set it for 50% when it was over 50%, and a charge window of 10 - 11AM, and overnight, outside those hours, the state of charge INCREASED by 5 points (like it went from 78% to 83%)?Interesting results from this technique. I’ve managed to prevent the truck from charging…kind of. I set the restriction to 50% and a charge time window of 10-11am, when i’m usually not home. This has kept it from starting to charge overnight but not completely. By this i mean that it seems to trickle charge overnight rather than completely stopping charge. I’m seeing about 5% gain in SOC overnight. Very odd behavior. Soon i’ll be installing an energy monitor on my barn panel so i’ll have a better understanding exactly what’s happening.
You can remote start with the truck plugged in. I do it every morning. Cabin is warmed up, charge level stays the same and my steering wheel heats like normal. You can get comfort and convenience without having it plugged in. Agreed. You can also use the departure function to make it automatic. Key point is you can get most benefits(minus battery heat) without the need to be plugged in.You can remote start with the truck plugged in. I do it every morning. no, it was under 50%. It went 39% to 44% overnight. In the app it was saying “plugged in but not charging”.No.
If you pull in with say 10% charge, and plug in, and the truck says "oh, this idiot is only giving me a 1 hour charge window, and that's not enough to go from 10 to 50%", it will start charging immediately.

That is unlikely. Things that are possible is that due to a warm spell, the 78% becomes 79%. Or, while heating the battery in deep cold, for the 15 minutes it does so, that results in a minor increase in SOC. But 5 points seems off.
If you have the ER battery, 5% is 6.6kWh. That number is very similar, like identical, to how much the Ford Mobile Charger would provide in an hour. Any chance you have that charger, and you checked the number AFTER 11AM in the morning?no, it was under 50%. It went 39% to 44% overnight. In the app it was saying “plugged in but not charging”.
no, it was this morning at about 7am. I worked from home today. It charged 44 to 50% from 10-11am.If you have the ER battery, 5% is 6.6kWh.
